Can somebody point me toward a decent AI mod? I've been feeling like playing TS skirmish a bit, but then I remember how pathetically easy the AI is. Confused

I'd also like to have a look at one so I can finally learn how to make AI scripts. Razz

Change the TeamDelays and AIHateDelays. Then play the AI. It will murder you in minutes.

I always hated how all the comps would gangbang you if one of them was killed.

even if ive not even seen another AI player in the entire game, and i can just hear fighting in the shroud, then i check the kills with tab and see one of the computer players has like 400 kills and its only 20 minutes into the game, you know they are dead soon.

then once the AI kill that one AI thats taking all the fire, they all spitroast you.


I hated it until i turned them off, paranoid=no

but now it is fairly easy, but its alot nicer knowing im not about to get 4 multi-missiles and 2 ioncannons in my base, as well as 6 hunter seekers.

how am i supposed to survive that.. lol, i like to make super elaborate bases, with pavement and laserfences/concrete walls and firestorm walls.

taking my time, a AI normally does before ive even got a tech centre. Very Happy

and ive got silo's all over the place to reach and put pavement down.

I would only like all the teams to fight me WITHOUT having super weapons on, no Ions, No Nukes, No Seekers. if they could be turned off, it would be SWEET.

Just make the MKII, Cyborg commando & Hijacker level 9 units with your rules.ini. Problem solved. Construction vehicles are level 10 too I think.

yes, but the structures needed to build them are tech level 10, if i change them to 9, then the seeker comes with it (for nod at least)

right?

i wonder why there isnt just a option for it in the skirmish options. that would much less hastle..


If i make nod temple level 9, does seeker become level 9 too? i looked at the seeker unit code and its level is -1, which is unbuildable, havent found it anywhere else.

i was tempted to just make the Ion, Missiles and seekers do 0 damage, so even if they shot 1000000 at me all at once it would be no problem.

I personally just remove the hunter seekers altogether...

[NATMPL] ; remove the SuperWeapon tag under this entry

[GAPLUG2] ; make this techlevel=-1

Then just keep the Missile Silo and Ion Cannon Uplink at techlevel 10, or just remove the Temple of Nod from the prerequisite list for the Cyborg Commando, Mutant Hijacker, and Fist of Nod.

Hmm, I did that before and they still used the Hunter-Seeker.
I can only play Tech 1 right now because the game crashes when a War Factory is destroyed so no worrying right now.

AI toooooootally sucks at tech level 1, they should build armarda's of infantry... like millions of them. but they dont even build any last i checked.

Wow... GFG,

it was a strange change you did.

they didnt move from their base, and didnt build any infantry until i blew up their barracks, then they built another one and I killed their construction yard and harvester, (at this point we were at about 300 kills each.)

then, they built and built and built light infantry, and kept building them, meanwhile so was I, I was building them faster only by a little, I had a crazy number of soldiers, I had to split my numbers into 6 groups because i couldnt move them all at once.

I got a conyard in a crate and made a small garrison next to their base. and staged my battalion from there.

and then i rushed them, we were doing ok for a while, since half their solders were sitting on the refinery doing nothing, and as we were fighting they kept building more and more and more, soon i was a little concerned, and had my men take out their barracks, at this point i had 10 left, each of them with about 20 soldiers against him.

i had 4000 credits left, from the 50000 i set as start money, they were all sat at what was left of their base, still millions of them, and then it happened to my great distress.

they sold all thier building and then went on the war path. like a massive Gold slime trail accross the map, they over ran my men at the garrison, the pic shows what was left as they ran back to my main base.

at my main base, my two harvesters were called in to try and squash as many as possible while they were bottlenecked on the bridge, but it was too late, and my harvesters were too slow, they swarmed my base, and there was nothing i could do to stop it.

Wow. I didn't change anything to make them do something stupid like that... You really got owned. #Tongue
When I play with that small AI mod and with shortened TeamDelays I get completely steamrolled by these guys.

What AI level were you playing against?

Hahaha.. it was level 2 AI, and.. wow my god, it was unbeleiveable, i was like "lol their base is so screwed, gg", (it was only a single Barracks, Refinery, power plant and con yard at full strength anyway. only 4 buildings.

after i got wasted again in my second rush they only had a ref (no harvester) and a power plant, and a quillion infantrys.

I was banking on them just camping at their base remains, and i could take my time and build up another mega army and attack them to the last man.

but no, they sold everything and ran for my garrison, killed it with ease and continued to my base, which was totally naked. I couldnt build enough men fast enough, and then i ran out of money, tried to bring my harv's in to squash them, but they were way way too slow, and it was totally gg.

wiped out. lol Very Happy
