Hello!

I am currently modifying some existing maps for my new game mode. I encountered two problems:

1.) The combobox Terrain/Ground does not contain all available entries. Some temperate maps I wanted to modify use terrain type 0xb, some kind of stone basement. Its perfectly shown when playing the game, but I seem to have no chance to use it in the editor.

2.) Drawing plateaus is nearly impossible. I am unable to change the level of some fields, because I am simply unable to reach them with the cursor. The selection box is always facing one of the neighbor fields, but never the one I have to raise or lower. There are several tutorials around, but none of them mentions this problem.

It doesn't matter wheter I use Final Alert 1.00Beta, 1.01 or 1.02. I am working with Win7 64 Bit, but tried to use several compatibility modes - always with the same result.

Does someone came across the same problems?

Benjamin

FinalAlert is just a very problematic program, it always seems has some form of problem around every single corner. You have to modify the original MIX files for FinalAlert to read your new terrain files.

I don't understand what you mean in your second problem...

Stone basement? You mean like a darker version of pavement as seen only in the first soviet mission in RA2 near the airport tech building?

You can't reach some areas?
Go into Marbe Madness mode and press Ctrl+D - it'll make everything appear to be on the same level, but the tile colourings will still show the actual heights.

The problems are solved.

Problem 1: I diseabled AutoLat and Slope Correction causing only the basic ground tile with hard edges to be drawn.

Problem 2: Ctrl+D did it. Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!
