The artwork is very impressive! I'm not much interested in the post-Westwood C&C games, and haven't played 'em yet, even, so I'm not very excited about the upcoming mod, but the art is exceptionally well done, you can immediately see the work of a professional. It's an alternate history (of alternate history) mod. It's not like its a new thing for mods. With TS you have Twisted Insurrection and Tiberian Oddessy (to a lesser extent). RA2 has Mental Omega, Robot Storm, Shattered Alliance's original storyline (a more Cold War style RA2 iirc), Gangster's Red Alert II, and several other mods.
Knowing this, I think that Red Alter's idea isn't that bad and I kind of like it. Of course, I'm not a huge fan of how Red Alert went with YR and RA3, so feel free to differ. QUICK_EDIT
