ShockWave, the Generals Zero Hour mod that brings a lot of balance, changes, and new goodies to the game, has had an update! ShockWave 1.1 is the last release with The_Hunter as mod leader, and brings a lot of balances, edits, and some new unit from the previous 1.0 and 1.0a release.
To quote the man himself:

The_Hunter wrote:

I'm not a man of alot of words but i'll keep it short and simple:
Today is my birthday and i will celebrate that with one final releaseof ShockWave before i will stop working on this project Smile

As added bonus i'v made some promotional images  for all of you.
What they are i'll leave up to your own guessing as you'll be seeing these on the battlefield aftery ou finnished downloading and installing the mod.

that's all hope you all enjoy the mod all donwloads can be found by clicking on the image above.
Incase you wish to know what changes the mod provides you can find a complete list of changes here
Aside of the main mod download we also have:

- A unsupported no-installer release which should be usable for mac users (NOTE THIS VERSION IS NOT SUPPORTED AND WILL NOT PROVIDE HELP HOW TO USE THIS)
- A map pack including more than 60 costum maps all compatible with the new AI for ShockWave.
- A tutorial on how to make maps compatible with ShockWave.
- A re-release of the classic shellmap from ShockWave 0.93 reworked for 1.1 which can be installed as a option.

ztype yeah! Love this, am a huge fan of Shockwave and glad to see a new version.

Sad to see The_Hunter going from the mod, I'll be doubtful of any new releases.

I used to play ZH but soon get rid of its, all kinds of bugs(pathfinding bug, physical calculation bug, and so on). Now I keep ZH only for its icons and sounds.

In SW 1.0 I haven't played EVEN ONE complete game - it always crashes halfway. Besides, there might be a critical bug in the path-finding of Mammoth Tank of USA Armor General in SW 1.0. In this picture all tanks were unable to move - for no reason - then I sold nearly all buildings to free space, selected them all and tried to order them to move, then - you know - a Fatal Error occurred. I must say EA has created a s**t engine and I refuse to play ZH any more.

You can't expect a prototype 3D engine to support massive combat like that. I've never encountered the issues you're having, and never really experience any issues with the game at all in the couple of years I've been playing.

Of course, you can't expect the game to run perfectly with that much shit on the map. I guess you had max players all at max difficulty.

TS engine does not have these issues at all.

SAGE sucks, don't blame the mod.

Guess what, two InfGens are capable of causing a global ground unit freeze. And even better, I'm always AFG.

Long story short; don't play with many AIs.

Never seen that issue before and I command far bigger armies. It's your hardware, LH. Not the game.

I have seen this before. It was when I tried running Gens on a system a ways below the recommended requirements.

LH: Yeah, those are all medium-level hardware, and running that many AIs with a mod that has alot of additions and whatnot, is not a good idea, and especially only because you have 2GB of ram.

Your specs are way more than Generals requires, it's simply a flaw of the game if the cause of those crashes is its AI.

But I seldom encounter this problem in ZH 1.04.

Generals had tendancy to overheat my old ATI crap card in 2003 but newer comps no crashes particularly frequently, i got 6gb RAM now anyway... still the sage engine on generals is pretty laggy in most mods for me once combat really begins and i put many ais on the map.

People, if you encounter those error messages, go to the ShockWave forums and look there for a solution. If it's not a common problem, make a topic there. I may be a Beta Tester, but I don't know everything #Tongue

Overheating? I just run as administrator and there'll be no more problem...
And I think maybe you lag too much because the setting is not at best performance (Or maybe not... but if this isn't your problem, I don't know)...
Here's my options... (Just go C&C ZH: Shockwave -> Menu -> Options -> Detail -> Custom, and set like this. And No More LAGS!!! WOOHOO!!! *cough* Sorry for shouting (Ignore ZH V1.03 And Shockwave V1.0) Laughing

I believe that map is meant for vanilla ZH, not any mod; I know what map that is and it DOES crash any time I try to play it with a modded copy of ZH, doesn't matter what mod it is.

Oh hey, just a note:
Nukes busted on Nuke Gen. Sirmods has a fix if you want to play as the Nuke Gen and use nuclear missiles...unless if Shockwave studios already released a fix?

Nope, I checked on their forums just now and there is no fix yet apart from what I did. Anyone that has me on MSN already, just ask, it's seriously a simple issue and I don't get why there hasn't been a hotfix pushed out yet.

It's not busted. I'm using 1.1 and I can launch nukes just fine as the Nuke Gen. However, I can't launch it from the Silo itself, but I can from the superweapon bar on the right when it's done counting down.

Noticed it on the forums: it has a wrong commandbutton on the Nuke Gen Nuke Silo. I can assume it will be fixed in a patch.

Not necessarily a "wrong" command button, it just got assigned one with a new enum value (which I couldn't trace further); otherwise it was coded EXACTLY the same as the other nuclear missile launch command buttons. I don't understand why they even did that.
