Question. In the final release of RA2 (BEFORE 9/11) was the objective of the third Soviet mission ever to destroy the World Trade Center towers? I do remember they patched it after 9/11 and if I remember right it was to change the strings to read BUILDING (like every other civ structure ever).

Whats the word on this? With the way Sophia talks in the map briefing it sounds like she wants it destroyed.

No. It's not an objective, before OR after. However, destroying them gives you power crates. XD

I think they were SpySat=yes in the rules from that map, but I am not sure. Anyway, people only said the name tag of the WTC has changed after 9/11

Depends on what year your RA2 was produced. Any copies after 911 didnt include the WTC's. Atleast not the whole thing. In my version only a partial shp remains. But I've since recreated them and are currently in my mod. Wink

and yes they were spysats.

a full sized sears was cut out of the game earlier in the development. Its deathanim still exists.

I've never seen pre 911 RA2, but this is whats inside of mine as far as WTC goes. If this is what they used in pre 911 RA2, WW is so lame. Laughing

Westwood used chopped SHPs pre-9/11 so it doesn't matter. Nothing about the graphics changed between then and what we have now. In fact, the mission didn't even change! Destroying them still gives you crates...

I find it funny to think they couldn't even work around they're own engine, and so chopped things here and there. For example, the stunted Eiffel Tower.

From what I know, the only thing changed after 9/11 was that names where changed, so you destroy the 'Generic World Famous Museum' instead of the Louvre #Tongue
