Hey using Gentool I can get 1600X800 odd but is there any way to get a higher resolution or to zoom out much further? I want to play the game badly but I can't sit in that sandbox view Sad

In generals and Zero Hour the camera height and angle are set in a .ini file from the game itself. This means that to change the camera height you'll need to mod the game or find a mod that changes the game camera.

To change resolution without any tools you'll need to edit the options.ini (with notepad) and edit its set resolution, this however has no effect on the camera, you'll only get a non-stretched view and more detailed fx ( cause it uses more pixels).

You can't zoom out much further. ShockWave/RotR increase the maximum zoom a bit, but if you go further the engine will have problems rendering everything (especially on the sides of the screen).

That's not "zooming out" though. You can see more in RA2 when you increase resolution because the graphics aren't scalable.

I have my Generals Screen Resolution set to 1600x900. Just have to modify the "Options" for your save.
