[3DSmax] A basic setup for SHP projects.
Hi there,
I have created a Max file that contains everything you need to start a new SHP building or unit.
The file contains:
-A 7x7 cell grid, that can be used to proper place and scale your building/unit.
-A camera with the correct viewing-angle, ready for rendering and easy to adjust via dummys.
-A basic 4 point lighting.
-A ground plane.
Everything is sorted with layers, so you can select, hide, freeze or disable parts with the click on a button.
How to use it? Easy!
First, decide what a foundation you want to use for your building.
Then open a similar building and check the placement.
You also need to know the required resolution, in this case its 192x192 pixel.
Open my file in 3DS Max.
Go to the "render setup" dialogue and enter width and hight accordingly. Close the dialogue.
Use the "CameraAdjustmentDummy"...
...and the "Dolly Camera" button...
...to adjust the grid in the 3D view. Try to fit the placement of your reference building as close as possible. Use only the "Local" X-Axes on the "CameraAdjustmentDummy"
Create your building, unit, whatever.
Adjust the light settings to your pleasure and render it.
Done.
I hope the file is helpful.
Note this file uses a Tiberium Sun sized grid and works with Max 2010 or higher.
It is nice but I prefer DonutArnold's template. There's no task of alignment/settings with his. Just build it and render.
I do applause you for this tho(: _________________
