Finally I made a decent infantry unit!, this one is like the Guardian GI, has a machinegun when standing and a rocket launcher when deployed.

sandbags/bunker texture is too smooth, should be more rough but even infantry is tad smoooth #Tongue

For those interested in the model, it is a basic human figure I posted on my site in the 3d warehouse (click the "site" button below my avatar to go to my site).

@Nikademis:
Regarding what you wrote in the ppm 2012 contest, this here is an example output of a very basic eyeless figure, he has a hemisphere on his head as a helmet, his fingers are newbie typed ones, but that doesn't matter, you might not believe how many misplacement issues were in the animated scene so it would give this output.

it took me about 6 hours just animating him, the anims up close have many errors, which explains why I make all my stuff for YR or Ra2 (because they don't need details on units and the shp format makes me free to any number of polys and vertices), he is very tall, but still fits the game too.

Besides the anti-alising issues, it has a style difference. It doesn't blend in. Your SHKBOT was ways better. I suggest to take it's height and settings.

Definitely recommend studying human physiology. Humans don't stand that way, comfortably, nor do they walk that way, comfortably. I'm hoping that you are using a biped to animate, so make sure that you smooth out your transitions and study how a human's body moves while doing things that seem as simple as walking.

^^True, I was testing with rigging and didn't care to smooth anything, but it fits the game 7/10, try moving a conscript with it and you'll see that the anims are a like.

And make sure (if you're using Max) to turn off Anti-aliasing against background.
