You know the seventh rule would only spread the virus in the RE movie world. In the 2nd Resident Evil movie, crows got infected and attacked people. QUICK_EDIT
Dude just stop mentioning those films, they're an embarrassment not just to a RE fan but a film fan.
Anyway I don't imagine in my zombie world that animals would target zombies. Since they're dead meat they wouldn't be edible so animals wouldn't kill them to feed. Their general mindlessness removes any "presence" so animals would probably completely ignore them, wouldn't see them as a threat or, if you think of voodoo risen zombies, run away from the evil. I don't know why zombies would need eyes either, surely they just 'sense' where the flesh is, as they're dead there's probably no actual working body part anyway.
I don't think any of those show that a zombie invasion wouldn't work. We'd still have limited supplies, limited numbers through initial infections/killings and, again if you take Romero's undead, every dead person would be resurrected as the undead so even if someone quietly passes away they could soon be back to bite. QUICK_EDIT
The Resident Evil films have some serious... shifting levels of quality.
Which make it shittier than the shittiest parts, because there are so many nice and good ideas in it.
By the way, Fen's post made me think of something me and my friends came up during a Resident Evil film marathon.
A world with a zombie infection, done realistic.
Half the zombies die again to their own stupidity (walking on highways, getting near dangerous machinery, simply rotting away in the sun), and the rest get slaughtered by the military. Except for some deep farmland area in the state Iowa or what. But Iowa is an important food producer, so the FEMA simply puts a huge wall around the state and sets up armed medical checkpoints around the border...
...now comes the best part. Companies hire zombie killers to protect all those poor farmers from wandering zombies. Que awesome S.T.A.L.K.E.R. gameplay where you shoot zombies and bandits, collect bounties and buy bigger guns. QUICK_EDIT
Dude, what the hell do you have against the Resident Evil Movies?
What have you got for them?
They're badly directed by Paul W Anderson, 'nuff said - king of mediocre action movies like Event Horison and Alien vs Predator. They take what they want from the games (which isn't much) and ditch the rest, making them really half arsed adaptations... if they were titled something different it wouldn't be so bad. They ping pong between their own lame ideas and things from the video games just to try get fan approval.
Milla Jovovich, I'm just not a fan of hers. Haven't seen anything above average shes been in and I really find all that feminism, getting girls to kick ass stuff really irritating and boring. It's a simple ploy to try get the girls interested by having a strong female lead and the boys interested because... tits. Don't get me wrong, I love a strong female character, but that's the thing... 'Alice' isn't a character, she's a moving set piece. Then in the sequels she gets shitty super powers like running down the side of a sky scraper... lame "cool" stunts like that just don't impress.
The movies also completely ignore the whole atmosphere of the atmospheric heavy video games. Considering the gameplay they are really not action orientated but more puzzle and drama focused and the films should have been too instead of being all about the gore and mowing down the dead. Resident Evil is running through corridors, where you'll rarely see more than 5 undead at once. The films should have been about horror not action using great suspense, lighting and practical effects.
The RE games have so much to offer for a movie it's ridiculous they ignored it all and still called it Resident Evil. In future I definitely intend to create a zombie movie inspired by the game series. QUICK_EDIT
Video game-to-movie adaptations suck. Period. Someone feel to prove me wrong, I'd be glad to see even a single exception to this rule.
Slightly offtopic but who cares. _________________ QUICK_EDIT

But comics to television series, well, The Walking Dead does a pretty damn good job. _________________ Okay, my signature was starting to annoy even me. QUICK_EDIT
Dude, Resident Evil (movies) is a great series. Some people hate them and others love them. I guess I just love them. Plus a female bad ass isn't really that bad. It kinda says FU to all the movies with some giant muscle man kicking in doors and killing people with high-powered weapons. In Resident Evil, they follow more of a calm to loud set-up. It starts calm and cool and then they end up bringing in a huge amount of zombies and the fight begins. So I am going to go ahead and respect your opinion and I hope you will do the same. QUICK_EDIT
