IBM revieled thier new chip that functions like a human brain, though far from actual human intelligence, They say they are not far away from making one. Can you say Terminator-Day of Judgement! Razz

Maybe one day computers will actually think for themselves and either destroy us or make my 3d models for me just by reading my mind. Laughing Razz

Mistake. I really don't think they should start building computers that think for themselves. Computers were created to make our own lives easier, not to bring computers to life.

You guys are really overreacting. A computer that can comprehend situations is the next generation in technological developments. If IBM made a chip that can adapt to Pong, then that's great. They aren't gonna go around the world killing everyone named John Connor now.

Derp'd, didn't you? I can already see computers that can think for themselves putting us out of jobs. Keep 'em simple, like they've been.

Look, that's why I study art.

It'll take a long time before computers can emulate creativity.
I'm ready for the robotic overlords, as long as they pay.

We are. BUT, Congress has its own agenda; cut funding from everything the average citizen needs and spend more in special interest groups.

America the beautiful, huh? Rolling Eyes

yeah they seem to be doing a good job at taking shit away from us just so they can fix thier own problems. But thats the way it's always been. The Government screws up and we the people pay for it thru more taxes.

3 cheers for the US Government Rolling Eyes

I think people who don't understand that the 1% of the upper tax bracket pays about 80% of the majority of taxes, shouldn't discuss taxing the rich anymore. Most federal tax returns for the poor come from the taxes of the rich. I think we're taxing the rich enough. Maybe the poor people should just start paying their fare share of taxes, and we'll see just how much people like that.

It's not even the income tax. It's cutting funding from healthcare, education, defense, transportation, etc. while pumping millions into the private industry. Corporations, every last one of them here in the U.S., they're better off than even the government and yet the government is spending millions on them and cutting their taxes. I shudder to think of the specifics. Confused This country's government is so backwards, officials could probably stare at their own innards.

They've even made it harder for military and civilian personnel working for the government to earn pay raises and benefits (in many cases, pay and benefits have been slashed indefinitely) while Congressmen are earning hundreds of thousands of dollars a year (not to mention all the money they earn from the private industry) and they're allowed weeks of vacation while the country is forced to pay millions based on the governments poor decisions.

Maybe it's always been this way but Jesus Christ, remember that one Congressman who said "isn't Guam going to tip over on its' side?" Rolling Eyes

Say Wut? You've totally been misdirected on that one. Federal Income tax was a plan to take your money, invest it to make more money, pay back to you what they took, and keep the profits. However, the Government mismanages thier money to no end and wonders why they are broke. People are only supposed to get back what was taken out of thier weekly checks. Some get extra benefits, but thats a different story.

And it's the Middle Class that makes up the bulk of the taxes, not the rich.

Actually, the upper one percent pays 20 percent and the other 80 percent comes from 52 percent of the people while 47 pays nothing. Everyone files a federal tax return and most refunds come from overpayment from W2 income rather than any other source. Refunds to the poor are not "funded by the rich." However, I would say that the 47 percent not paying should be ponying up some dough like the rest of us.
