Subject description: Some tool for interactive desktops.

I was looking around on the Star Wars: The Old Republic forums (can't wait for release) and this guy was making a desktop for it. (Original Thread)

You can find a picture of it here and a video of the interactivity of it here.

Anyhow, the desktop was made using a program called Rainmeter in conjunction with Taskbar Eliminator.

So I'm going to experiment with it a little and might try a C&C themed skin, but I'm not the greatest graphics person so I'm not sure if it will turn out great or anything.

My first focus has been on my own SW:TOR skin theme. I'm probably going to add a system monitoring bar at the bottom. Anyhow, here's a picture of what I got so far:

For those who are curious, 'Bynnar' is my SW:TOR forums name. So I used it as the 'login'.

Why not replace that logo with a GDI/Nod one?

Rainmeter is amazing, i use a portable version that contains links to my home servers that contain C&C and other artwork. Awesome software.

Yeah, but I'm getting to the C&C one. I'll probably just try a recolor first and then change it if it doesn't match.

EDIT: I did some recoloring and made this:

Resurrection! Rise from a few months old topic.

Have you finished the skin?! D:
I'd like to use it on my rainmeter even thought I love Engima.

Hell.. may just make a modified Engima skin, based on a futuristic style that's loosely based around the PPM style of the main site.

I still do have the ones from the picture. I've kind of lost interest in developing them further. The only other thing I wanted to do was put something at the bottom but the system bar idea looked overly complicated.

If you want, I'll zip them up and post them up here for anyone who wants them.

if you don't mind me modifying them... completing what you started?

I don't mind as long as you send me the result. Wink

Anyhow, I've zipped both skins. They have generic stuff on them and all buttons link to the C drive. I also changed the username on the TOR skin to User42. The backgrounds are included and I think I have a spare folder in the TOR skin with some cursors.

Hey I've sped up the animations for the busy cursors for the SWTOR theme if you want them. It's like a 5 second change in AniFX though.

Actually.. I ditched Rainmeter

I found it was the cause for my computer freezing. -_-;

My comp would freeze every 4-6 minutes. :/
