Hey guys im working on a simple survival map but keep running into one problem. The waves and every other mechanic are working fine so far, but there is one thing that is bothering me. That is the stupidity of the AI waves.

What i mean is, i have all the wave teams have a script that just says attack a general target. So when the teams/waves chrono onto the map they choose some random target, a miner for example at my base and get easily crushed by my defenses/units because they pretty much just keep on moving until they reach that one selected target (miner) but obviously my base is well protected and they will not be allowed to touch my miner.

How can i have them simply attack my units or base defenses that are attacking them, i want them to actually start a war and not just mindlessly select a useless target get stomped by units they encounter before reaching their one target.

Thanks 4 the help guys.

That's why you have more complicated scripts than just 1,0.

Setting waypoints and different scripts for different units might be good ideas.

Just chronoport(or move via waypoints) them in/near the base and set them into area guard.

Hm which other scripts do you mean? Your right im using 1- Attack, but i dont which other scripts will allow the waves to wisely choose attack targets.

The descriptions of the other scripts make me think that none of them will do the job any better than 1, which isnt doing the job well enough.

@Lin- Thing is i like the whole idea of chrono-porting them on the other sid eof the map and them having to travel a bit b4 reaching our base. This gives the players some time to brace themselves.

Place several waypoints in front of the base and let them guard the area for 10 timeunits before moving to the next waypoint which is even closer to the base.

K guess im gunna try that and see how it works, also i have an unrelated question.

Say i have made many edits on a map, for example having certain units available, is there a way i can carry all those edits to another map im making? Instead having to go into iNi editing mode and retyping my values again?

Copy the codes you want, then paste them in the maps you want with Notepad. There isn't much else you can do with Notepad.

1. Create all your changes in notepad and save it like changes.ini (change format to any type)
2. Load up FA2
3. Beginner mode off - Edit - INI Editing
4. Insert another INI content
5. Find your INI

The other way is simply have all your changes in notepad - open your map file in wordpad before copy and pasting all your changes in directly.

Make sure you don't have any Suicide=yes teams as that will surely make them head for 1 specific target and ignore everything else on the path, thus suicidally stupid.
