There is no "easy" 3D program. Really.
As for tuts, there's 2 options:
1. Google them. Some might get it fast, some not. There's no perfect set of tutorials. Also, most of the 3D programs come up with tuts.
2. It'd be really nice if you'd try a more popular 3D program. It can be helpful since you could try discussing on a forum, or having some contacts to ask questions.
@DavyCrockett: I can't recall you doing any SHPs/Voxels. Correct me if I am wrong. QUICK_EDIT
Easiest progression, imo, since it begins with the simple concept of creating and modifying objects in 3D space (Sketchup), then has you moving to a more controlled format in which subdivision and extrusion become key (Wings), then onto more complex modification of the shapes (Blender and Max). Although there's quite a big jump between Wings and 'proper' 3D programs, its worth the warm up.
Blender's interface has become much more usable in recent months, but is still quite daunting with its many features. I would consider it fairly analogous to any other 3D application in that fact, though. QUICK_EDIT
IMO...modeling is basically simple, the texturing that is the hardest part. I kinda learned modeling from using a program called BSP. its a map maker for digital paint based on the Quake engine.
Buildings and such are nothing more than boxes that you change to poly or mesh that you extrude sides, move edges or vertices to form the desired shape. The tricky part will be the texturing or applying a skin to the model.
If you have the cash to buy 3D Max, they have some great tutorial videos and making pretty much anything. Buildings, vehicles, people, lighting affect and such. _________________ I am authorized to send out the TMP Studio, PM ME IF YOU WANT IT And check this out, these were sent to me for help with terrain and zdata help along with TMP Studio/Builder
