I was wondering if it's possible to make special abilities (Airstrike, Paratroopers, Spectre Gunship etc) or Superweapons so that they can't be targeted in shrouded areas. I'd like to modify a special ability so that you can only target them in areas that your forces can see at the moment.

Shroud as in the one that regrows (aka Fog of War), or the black shroud you have in missions and doesn't regrow (aka oldskool C&C shroud)?

I believe he means the fog of war. It's certainly a question I'd like the answer to..

I think in Contra...SOme abilities can't be used in FOW. Not sure..
All I know is, if anyone's going to limit it.. IMO, Superweapons should be able to be targeted, no matter Shroud, or FOW. Reason why it's a SW.

I would suggest checking the game.dat file for that. Just search for one of the entries with a hex editor, usually other valid entries are next to the results.

I know that most special powers are blocked from firing with the black Shroud (unless it is a specific KindOf). Not entirely sure if you can make special powers blockable by the FoW. I know TW does have that.

I know vehicles can have the kindof "attack needs line of sight", dunno what happens if set on special powers.

attack needs line of sight just prevents objects from attacking if something else like terrain or buildings obstruct the view.
