In a couple days my son will be joining PPM as a member. He's only 5 yrs old but knows how to read and write. He loves RA2, YR, and RA3. In fact he's playing RA3 right now Razz
But anyway, like i said he's only 5, so he may post some ridiculus stuff. Please be nice to him

The C&C Community is very welcoming if you don't mind me saying. I'll be glad to have a little newbie around to help out with the most ridiculous modding questions (but yeah he's five). In fact, will he even mod? And has he played your mods?

Thanks for being understanding guys. and besides he's the future of PPM.

@Orac, yep, MiniCranium Razz "Thats a good PPM name for him too."

@PePsiCola, yeah he has my mod installed on his comp. He loves it. He even thinks that it his mod Laughing Everytime I make something new he comes over and says "It that for my game, dad?" Laughing He's even renamed the VenomRage desktop icon to "Timmys Mod" lol.
I've showed him how to add and remove stuff from the ini's, but he dosent quite have them down yet, as I'm always fixing his game.. Oh well thats how you learn. Very Happy

I lost that record this year iirc.

Damn, I feel old, and getting close to 17.

Suddenly, PPM will have to become nice, tho...seriously, isn't he a bit too young? Just sayin'. Maybe I'm a bit too conservative tho.

Mapping is technically a form of modding, in which case, I was modding Red Alert 1 when I was 4. Razz

Youngest modder ever to join a modding forum, then.

And what the jeez where you doing with Red Alert when you were only 4? #TongueI'm not sure if I had even played any games when I was that young.

Duke Nukem and Doom were two of my first games, then followed by C&C and Half-Life when I was still really young. It's a wonder I'm not sick and twisted... wait.

I have to agree, even if you "warned" us beforehand, he'll most surely encounter strong language, strange behaviour and what else.

Meh, he's gonna come across crazy words and crazy crap no matter were he goes on the internet. Good thing is, he knows which is good and bad. If someone gets out of line, he'll tell Banshee Laughing

But yeah, he's serious about wanting to mod RA2/YR. I work alot so he'll need your guys guidence on stuff sometimes. I didnt say everyone had to behave, just dont go calling him a dumb a$$ or something like that. And dont worry he wont be to annoying. Just remember, when he posts something crazy, remember he's only 5.

5 year old kid that can use a computer and even play stratege games? wow he is smart for hes age.
Many parents limit the time their kids can spend in front of the computer. tbh I think computers make you less ignorant and more smart. Of course, school and such is top priority.

Lol Cranium. Hmm, doesn't Venom Rage have a tougher AI?

As for the picture...I remember playing Red Alert at his age (I was 4 maybe). I remember nostalgic times where I'd have tiny bases like that.

@Bu7loos, how do you know he's a cutie when you cant even see his face? Razz

@PePsiCola, yeah, VenomRage has a tougher AI, it kicks his butt pretty good from time to time, but then again it kciks my butt too once in awhile. It's definitly not an AI you can lose focus on. Just when you think you got them depleted, they surprise you with some crazy stuff.

His base is small because he was only playing for about 5 min when i took that pic. His bases get pretty big at times. He's not a great player, but he does know what he's doing. Wink

I don't think you honestly have too much to worry about. It's a first name, and from what I take it Timmy seems more like a shorthand.

Welcome to PPM, MiniCranium. Enjoy your stay and don't get put off by the oddness of these folk, many of them are actually quite nice on the inside once you get passed the rest of them. Smile

You've got what everybody wants, Cranium. A beta tester who you can prevent from wandering off.
