Was looking thru some computer stuff for sale and came across this. Just ned some feedback as I'm not to good in knowing whats a good deal on computer stuff. It sounds good but i'm not sure.

This was the add posted.

Hello, I'm looking to sell my Asus M2N-SLI-Deluxe AM2 SLI Motherboard with an AMD Athlon 64x2 4200+ Dual core CPU and also includes 4Gb of DDR2 800 ram (2x1Gb sticks of G.Skill with Crimson red heat spreaders/2x1GB sticks of Wintec AmpX with silver heat spreaders) There is nothing wrong with any of these parts, I just upgraded to a faster computer for gaming and no longer need these and I am only selling to get the money to buy a new power supply. I'm looking to get $65 for everything I have listed here. I have provided links to these parts for viewing pics and specs. Thanks for looking.

It wasn't a bad deal, but you should never mix and match RAM, especially not speeds. Hell, not even brands. These days, you're better off saving up for a brand new PC rather than trying to upgrade an old one. I was playing around on Newegg last night and you can snag 16GB of DDR3 RAM for under $80. It's not worth upgrading DDR2 anymore unless you can find it dirt cheap.

But if your running dual channel it shouldnt matter if you have different brands of ram should it? I mean if you put 2 of the same in one channel and two of another brand in the other channel, it should be alright shouldnt it?

It'll run, but I still don't recommend it if you can help it. It's just one of those things to avoid where possible.
