Yes, I'm trying to do this by Wine but with no good results, it gets stuck on "Initializing DirectDraw 6". Does anyone know how to run this program on linux?

Wine is a way to run windows programs under linux, comparable how you run DOS programs in windows via dosbox.

@Tiber: i don't have any experience with wine, but are you sure Wine supports directx and is directx correctly installed on your Wine?
\EDIT: from what i've found and read via google, does wine support directx 9.0c. So maybe you should try the newest wine if you haven't got it installed.

To be honest, it's probably less hassle overall to just run TS/FS/XCC/whatever in a virtual machine rather than through WINE. Both solutions are less than optimal but once you have a VM set up then the difficult bit is done.

If you haven't already, try changing the compatibility mode to XP or earlier. The other possible solution is to find (I'm guessing) ddraw.dll either on the internet or from a Windows installation that works and set an override for it. Both of these can be done by going to the WINE configuration settings (the command is winecfg) if you haven't done this before. A cursory glance on Google came up with this, which says you shouldn't replace ddraw.dll. Either way, give it a go and if it fails you can just revert back to using the built-in one.

Just after installing this patch that I downloaded from CnCDen, I was finally able to run FinalSun on linux through WINE.

Damn! It went wrong again! And it wasn't fsdata related. I just rebooted the PC. Now I can't even run TS, what could it be?

I'd be considering a virtual machine, personally.
