Goodday!

As most of you know, Flak tracks and mammoths (apocalypse tank) will attack airplanes.

However they also follow the plane for a few tiles. This annoys me cause the flaks sometimes move all the way outside my base pursuing an airplane.

I searched trough the INI but i cant figure out how to turn of the fact they are pursuing airplanes.

Anyone know's?

Thanks in advance!

There is a stupid bug that causes a unit to try to move closer to its target if it is unable to move to where its target is and the target is out of range, even when the unit is not in Attack mission. Similar problems usually happen on Destroyers(they will automatically pursue and attack land targets). There is no solutions unless you know how to modify the game engine.

Seems like EA has fixed this bug only halfhearted for RA2, as this is true in TS for all units in "guard" mode and not only for the special case you've described.

What if you adjust the settings below to compensate for it?

[General]
GuardAreaTargetingDelay=

[Unit]
Sight=
GuardArea=

Then add

CanPassiveAquire=no
CanApproachTarget=no
CanRetaliate=no

Cranium seriously, do you think what you suggest?

CanPassiveAquire=no ;you know this makes so unit won't automaticly fire on ANYTHING!
CanApproachTarget=no ;might be good idea that one
CanRetaliate=no ;Bad idea in generic combat, if unit gets shot at, it won't fire back unless player commanded to else its happy to just die standing dumb.

Uhm.. i can say 1 word... DAMN!!

It seems like this actually worked!
CanApproachTarget=no

I added it to the mammoth and to the gattling tank and both of them stay positioned when they shoot at airplanes! They only move when being shot by one which is fine ofcourse!

Yay!! no longer will my mammoth's be killed by planes luring them within Prism Tower range!

BIG thank you to Cranium!!

Retaliate just may not work vs artillery tho so units will hold their ground as not within sight range so win/lose some even with that.
