The first one is Yu Huang, Sha Yu, Thor, Templar,
Awesome, Hunchback, Viking (Arm got remove to make room for twin Gauss Rifles) and a HellBringer.
I have redone the Sha Yu Legs.. it is just too horrible to look at.

If anything you could try rip sprites and terrain from MechCommander, that game rocked. Of course, build up animations would look wrong but hey you gotta make do with what stuff throws at you. IIRC MechCommander was released for free by Microsoft plus the MechCommander 2 source code so in that case I'd say they're not too bothered about it. A mod for Crysis called MW Living Legends was surprisingly given the Microsoft blessing.

In fact I'd just try port MechCommander into YR myself if I was doing it by converting the sprites into SHP.. factions would probably be 2nd Star League vs Clans as it'd be easier to balance as IS players would have access to all IS mechs. Replace all civvy structs with the MechCommander civvy buildings, import the same terrain, desert terrain maps get converted to the Cermak tileset while grassland gets the Port Arthur one.

If you wanted to set it after the Clans then IS would just comprise of the usual houses with segregated mechs as subfactions of the IS. Second side would of course, be the Clans. Third if you wanted to play lulzy could be the Word of Blake plus it gives the option of playing around with nukes then..

What a coincidence, that's pretty similar to what I had in mind Laughing

Terrain can't be ported directly, though. Unfortunately MC does NOT use the exact same angle for its isometric view. It's ok for buildings and Mechs as the difference is minor, but terrain would require lots of fixing and editing to get things right, and I'm not exactly keen on that...

Hi, I am not sure if this mod is still alive, I am adding a screenshot from my battletech mod for those whom are interested. Basically, it is a clan attack using a Hunchback 2c and Urbanmech 2c against my Hunchback, Urbanmech and a Wasp. This is pretty old now as I have more mechs added to the list.

Some advices.

Shift-S for screenshots, thank you. You get a PCX into your RA2 folder then, yay!

Fill your voxels.

And choose darker colors, which actually gives your mech a look, not just a glowing mass.

Still a work in progress but it has been fun so far, next time the screen shot will be a a full clan attack star with Cougar, Summoner, Hellbringer, Warhawk and a Direwolf with elementals support mixing into some Manei Domini Level 1 units including ArchAngel, Seraph and Red Shift. Genetically enchance warrior vs Cybernetic Borgs..

If your going to take screenshots at least use Ares, please. The Pictures look distorted. And with Ares it is saved as BMP, which you can edit more easily than pcx.

Keeping them not resized is plenty good enough to be honest, resizing could do fine if Nearest Neighbor is applied as its in effect basically an actual resize and not distorting.

Its on Placeholder Colors as he said before, once he's done adding up the voxels and the hva animations he's going to put the final colors.

Those screenshot were taken using Shift-S but because I do not wish to upload a big screenshot I have resized it and convert it into PNG format from PCX.

Yes, I am aware the color stinks, but I am just as keen to get them into the game, and have some fun with the mechs I have done. It is still a way to go at getting it fully polished.

There are still two more faction, the Magistracy of Canopus and the Marian Hegemony to put there.

Mechs not shown are Awesome, Charger, Brigand, Centurion, Rifleman, Anubis, Eyleuka, Bandersnach.

I was going to include the Commando, but there are only so many mechs I can included wthin the 102 unit limit and also after a heart wrenching decision either the Brigand or Commando, I have to choose Brigand because it is more tie to the Pirate/Marian faction.

I have also done infantry and other buildings, but those assets are from various sources and since it is a private mod I prefer not to discuss/display assets which are not my own in case of copyright issues.

Suffice to say I have infantries like Corona Assault battle armor, Mercenaries, and tanks which are related to the Battlemech world.

The fun is yet to come when I integrate everything into the A.I and have a grand battle with 10 different factions and their mechs.. with weapon animations of my own devise like Gauss, Plasma and PPC.. it is going to be fun! I will post screenshots once it is ready.

As I said earlier... get Ares at least. With Ares you get BMP which doesn't distort like the Vanilla PCX Screenshots.

Then you can easily crop out the pictures even on MS Paint.
Use the Select Tool then once you've selected the part of the image you want. Click on Image on the Top Section and click on Crop. This will give you a smaller image without resizing the original files.

Okay.. I will post standard size screenshot from now on. Here is two to today, the clans, all about Turkina and Direwolf. The Soviet Rad guy I have made him to be a Clan Corona Elemental and the Russian Cosmosnaut as Slyph flying armor, while corona have a heavy infantry laser, slyph is pulse micro laser with bomb dropping abillity. When they are elite their weapon package is upgraded and different again..

Either there is something wrong with your game or your pcx2png picture converter.
I've never had such ugly stretched images.
And there is no monitor on this planet having a screen resolution of 602x603 pixel in one situation and 600x603 pixel in the next one. Not to speak of supporting such strange resolutions.
Thus scrap your picture converter and use something good and working like IrfanView.

concerning your units: i'm sorry, but i don't like them. they are too big, have black holes, bad normals causing stair effects and the colors are simply too bright/wrong/ugly. A good texture is not made of only complementary colors.
The model itself is quite ok though, so just fix the colors/normals and they should be already umpteen times better. (i guess even VSE creates better normals with its autonormalizer)

I did mention many times the game is still a work in progress, those "holes" are gun / weapon ports, I thought having them as "holes" make the voxel more real, but that is my design philosophy.

I am just showing some shots of my mechwarrior mod for those who enjoy the genre. Sure.. it is not a eye watering beauty but it is serving its purpose to help satisfying a craving off mine to see such machine pounding each other brains out.. and this game is a good RTS simulator to enjoy the titanic battle taking place, and the pleasure to see such battle unravel.

Anyway, I don't think there are a lot of fans of this genre here, so this will be my last posting of such screen shot. It shall be a private mod for mine unless there is a great demand for it, for there are a LOT of work to make the mechs really an eye watering gems, something I doubt I can do without help, but as for the game and etc.. it is perfectly finish except for sorting out the bugs.

Thanks for the input Lin :O) much appreciated, but this mod is essentially dead.. so I see no harm in just showing that another mod is still alive for those whom are mechwarrior fans.. and as for size, they are just the right dimension, the mechs you have done are for Tiberian Sun, too small for me to use it on my mod to be honest and I rather favor voxels, also I need A LOT for my mod, as you can see there are around 50ish mechs.
