I would have to say those long range missle subs! those things haul ass, and destroy bases ssssssoooo quick. I also like the demo truck, what could be better than a nuke on wheels? _________________ QUICK_EDIT
Westwood unbalanced RA SOOO much with those expansions. The allies lost their ONLY advantage, that being effective long range warfare, with the introduction of the Missile Sub, which was cheaper, faster, and more effective than the Cruiser.
Build a Naval Yard and 10 cruisers, and anyone DUMB enough to build near the water gets blown to hell
As for Aftermath, most DEFINATELY the M.A.D. tank. A bunch of those were mass destriction if placed near the enemy base.
Also, I like the Allied Radar Jammer. 'twas fun to jam the enemy radar when your units left your base to attack them, or just when nothing was happening so you could freak them out QUICK_EDIT
The mammoth tank is like a tradition in Command & Conquer games... sort of stopped by RA2 but there was the Apocalypse instead... Someone should make a Mammoth for RA2...It really got switched between the teams though... C&C:Good team, RA: Bad team, TS: Secret unit, RA2: Bad team. I use good and bad loosely because whether the team is good or bad depends on your POV but bad here is the red team. QUICK_EDIT
Yea. In RA2, WW kinda made it look like the Soviets were complete asshats. Same with Nod in TS. I hope they don't do the same to the Chinese and Terrorists in Generals, or it'll be time to get out my bashing stick and fly to their head office
Was there actually any way to get a Mammoth in TS? Or was that only by editing the Rules? QUICK_EDIT
Well, I'm hoping WW will redeem themselves. The Chinese look pretty damn badass, with the Hacker character (IT'S ABOUT TIME, JACKASSES! EVERY WAR THESE DAYS HAS TECHNICAL EXPERTS AND "Communications Engineers"!), but maybe it's just wishful thinking... QUICK_EDIT
My favorite units in RA1 are Phase Transport and Helicarrier, which were only in rules (techlevel=-1), but they were great with techlevel=10 _________________ in 2009 to Florence. Viva Italia! QUICK_EDIT
Ok hold up a second... I was aware that TD was the first C&C game from the TIberia series. Is TD, Ra1? I dunno im confused now _________________ QUICK_EDIT
TD was first, gamewise. RA1 was in the same universe, but took place BEFORE TD, when Kane was just getting his start on taking over the world. QUICK_EDIT
Actually, it makes sense. Kane couldn't really go around PUBLICALLY kicking Stalin in the ass with a pair of Doc Martins... I mean, he had no army yet. What he did with the whole assassinating Stalin thing was to set in motion the events that started TD.
TD was really Kane's game. I mean, TS and RA1 had Kane in them, but he was sorta a supporting cast member. He was there to make the story make sense, or in the case of TS, to make the game able to have the "Command and Conquer" title (Which WW doesn't care about anymore, after RA2 ). TD was ALL about Kane. He shows up in your briefings and mocks you, he personally appears all over the place, he talks about dinosaurs, then he calls Mobius the apt name of "Deranged Maniac." Not to mention splattering Seth's brains all over the wall, an event I personally still cherish as a momentous event in C&C history . Though, it'd be interesting to see how a RA1 with lots of Kaney Goodness would play out, since he's really a big catalyst for stories. QUICK_EDIT
that is the section i altered to make the Mad Tank's range weapon will be felt throughout the map. the Quake entries does explain for itself. the CarrierLaunchDelay entry is for the HeliCarrier, a hidden unit in RA1:Aftermath. the ChronoTankDuration is for the charging time for chronoshift for Chrono Tank and it is expressed in seconds.
the Missile Sub is also the Soviet's naval unit to counter the naval Allies' tough Allied Cruiser
the Mechanic too! was great. it was for the counter act the effects of the consistent M.A.D Tank deployment in the RA1:Aftermath mission called "Absolut M.A.Dness"
the Stealth Tank or the Phase Tank is also good. an apc with a turret of destroyer that fires APTusk missiles like the chrono tank. it is also available in a mission where Volkov stole it from the Allies as a gift for Stalin and in another mission you will test drive the Phase Transport and destroy the Allied Tech Center and the Chronosphere. and Missile Subs will come as additional demolition reinforcements. _________________ alteration of the past to make sense of the future. . . QUICK_EDIT
I'm gonna be different and say the Heavy Tank, my reasons? It has the same weapon as the Mammoth (no mammoth tusks admittedly), but its faster and cheaper. You can make a big group of these a lot quicker than you can make a decent sized group of mammoths and if you've got some anti infantry backup (like tesla tanks on aftermath) then you're walking (or should that be driving?) easy QUICK_EDIT

I really must agree that you have a good point in it, One Of a Kind. Good players must have good weapons in good numbers and in this case, Heavy Tank does really have a better cost/benefit than Mammoth Tank. Mammoth Tank might even defend air, but the enemy base does not fly, so since Heavy Tank is much cheaper and has the same weapon (even with lower strength), it becomes a better option for players, because of rthe higher numbers of it used in a small period of time.. QUICK_EDIT
Actually they do not have the same weapon. Mammoth tank has 120mm cannons and Heavy Tank has 90mm cannons. Supposedly. Anyway, the 90mms are weaker and don't shoot as far (I think... It's been a while since I was in RA1's rules.ini). QUICK_EDIT
Fair point on the weapon Deathray, but you've got to admit that people don't consider range all that often unless the unit is specifically for long range strikes (such as the V2) and if you have a big enough group of units then you don't really notice the damage each individual unit is doing. So its offical, the Heavy Tank owns the mammoth (although even i'll admit that if you've got a good enough economy and enough war factories then the mammoth is a much better prospect)!! QUICK_EDIT

ra1, umm, what did i like, for aftermath is was telsa tanks, but for ra1 by itself, umm, eather the spy or umm, the wtf was it called, the yak i think, the strafing plane, that thing was dope as hell. And demo trucks, hell ya,
like i think patton said "the object of war is not to die for your country, but to make the other sun of a bitch to die for his"
I think the first game i play when the comp starts working again will be hl or ra1 _________________ Formerly active PPM modder (maps, voxels, sprites) and Webmaster of C&C Central in the early 2000's on the Origin/Revora network. QUICK_EDIT

infantry with medics covered by missile subs are a quite interesting strategy... but a demo truck can blow most of them if well used (= not used in your own base ). QUICK_EDIT
Rocket soldiers combined with the Ultimate tank MEDIUM!
b.t.w the allies were to good in ra1 _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT
Nah, the Soviets were always better. The only thing they were worse with was the naval power in RA1 but when Aftermath came along they were given the missile sub and so the soviets have better everything. QUICK_EDIT
Soviets are so SLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWW my light tanks can kil a mammoth without getting hurt and a heavy tank is to expensive for a basic tank ! _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT

slow, but have a great resistence... if you use a bunch of light tanks in one heavy tank, you can kill it easily and maybe one light tank goes to yellow life bar, but try beating a huge group of them... you will need an extremely huge of light tank to beat 20 heavy tanks... QUICK_EDIT

The only problem with infantry is that theyr'e so squishy, a heavy could just plow right through them and make roadkill. _________________ Tiberian Station

The tesla tank 0wned! 10 or 12 of them were lethal, especially if they were Allies. They could et through them because they had lighter armour and defences couldn;t reach. Plus they jammed radar at the same time! _________________
