Subject description: for 3dsmax 2012, where to find it?
Reply with quote  Mark this post and the followings unread

as the title says, i have a 3dsmax 2012 edition but i can't get the w3x scripts to work on, i've tried to run the script manually but it didn't work at all, i've the older script but that was for w3d and it works fine.

i need to convert some stuff from TW... can someone tell me is there any other script that compatible with my 3dsmax version?

Those w3x scripts only work with couple of specific 3ds Max versions, one of which I know is 3ds Max 9 (not 2009).

I don't think there's any other way at the moment either.

I'm pretty much in the same boat. I have to use RenX as a go between to get anything done that requires W3d/w3x formats.

you should be able to import .w3x into max2012, just cant re-export them back to .w3x
I use Max2010 and Max2011, with both i am able to import them in just fine. I assume it shouldnt be any different for Max2012.
Have you tried bibbers or jujins importing tools?

RenX is a game module for Gmax that was released shortly after Renegade was. It allowed streamlined creation of W3d files. Importing, exporting, material editing, etc.

Well, if you have the older versions of 3D Max and 2012 you could import the item in the older version where it worked save it off and open that in 2012. I know I was able to open stuff that was created in older version in 3D Max 2010.

and that's the problem, i don't have the older version and of course even if the models was made from older version of 3dsmax i can still open it with 2012 version...

If you have 3dsmax, best forget about RenX and get the BFME tools for 3dsmax; it's the same as RenX, only for 3dsmax (and much more superior in my opinion).
