As the title says, I am wondering if there is any way around the 16bit colour restriction because it makes windows look like absolute crap on this lovely HD Monitor.

Thanks

AFAIK it works like FA2, not.
FA2 loads the map, but doesn't show it on the secondary screen. I was never able to run YR on my secondary screen

He's not talking about dual screen support or anything. He's asking whether or not it's possible to run YR in windowed mode (using command line parameter -WIN) without switching the computer to 16-bit display mode.

As far as I know it's not possible.

I was asking because windowed mode is the only way and DCoder says its not possible so I have to try and fix this another way.

I certainly hope that fixes it. I'm sick of having to change my PC's color scheme because Westwood sucks at programming.

See, I just set my right monitor to 16bit and the left to 32bit, and set YR and TS to run on the right monitor xD

Not possible, absolutely.

The game uses 5, 6, 5 bits to save the r, g, b value of a pixel thus each pixel occupies 16 bits (2 bytes), which is known as High Color.
YR uses DirectDraw to make use of hardware accelerated graphics which is too old and does not support 24-bit or 32-bit modes at all.
