Subject description: For my RA2 mod. As usual Names will be added to credits

Hate to request here but...
Just looking for some terrian shps for RA2 that look wasteland' ish.

Man i fail at this area for shp'ing

for the last few years i've been trying to attempt to make my own but to no avail.
So here i am asking for a complete set of terrain shps that look close to Tiberain sun land scape or just some wastelend looking terrain.

You know, a lot of us would want that stuff but given how time consuming and workful and also skill taking and only handful with enough skill to make sufficiently good work in this community exists, we're stuck mostly with awful westwood terrains :\

Reality is, terrain is terrible lego pieces assembling and simply making terrain is not enough, its making it blend with countless other tiles flawlessly that can easily mean countless hours of remakes for something you thought was done Very Happy

Anyone starts on it, its no doubt going to specific mod given the work load or gets done by half at best.

Terrains aren't shps. So, I'm guessing you want the tmp files.
My best bet is either you recolour the tiles or resize the TS tiles.

Maybe you could use TS Rewire's terrain, as they set their assets for public use.

yup just what i am thinking. I have tried this terrian making myself but im not good a blending things in as as you have said your self its not a easy task.

TS Rewire. well if its released i will use it. thanks, its the only piece of the puzzle i need to finsh my work. As usual i'll add it to the credits.

I'm glade i let this sit for a few months but i need this terrain set. I did try to make one, but i clearly lack the skill needed to make it.

Hey i can make many things, but terrain sets are my little weakness.

Rewire's terrain is indeed can be used. However it's uncompleted and there is no stand alone version.

hey Gangster i see the unfinshed sections. nothing i can't fix.
i'm good at editing "existing terrain" sections but that is as far as i go.

i have photoshop anyways. maybe i can post my fixed versions back to you gangster, and you can patch yours too, its the least i can do.

Well i did try that too. but i was too pixelated and every time i corrected it (unpixelated the terrain ), it just looked too "clean".

TS terrain tiles are bit smaller you have a lot of resizing to do. Can you post up some pics of things you want?

3d max dirt road templates? I am working on some of those. They are sized for RA2/Yuri's Revenge.

I have somewhere some TS files that I converted over to RA2, I will have to dig them out

Actually I think the great deal of work is the biggest problem of making terrains... Also the varieties type of textures and models you need to prepare...

well, i started with the roads, trying to match the grass from urban and dirt was a pain enough....slopes are a pain, cliffs are not hard, but there is work with photo program needed. grass for the temp setting is a challenge

you know, TW has some nice roads, dirt roads and Post apocalyptic land textures, also RA3 has nice terrain too.



each texture also has a normal map.

I have had no problems with basic textures and Paved Roads. Aro helped with LAT. Donut tutorial for cliffs. Also i have modeled a brige and tunnel. Shoreline is a lot of PS work. Water cliff is a mix of Cliffs and Shoreline. Cliff ramps was reconstructed from clear slopes and cliffs. Havn't found easy solution for dirt roads yet be cause I don't want a simple resize TS or reususage of RA2 ones.
