So I've made my own audio.bag, placed that inside my mod's main mix. But the Game isn't reading up the sounds. They're all in the right format so that shouldn't be the problem.

Some sounds are there to override the vanilla ones but they aren't being read at all and still use the original sounds.

Atomic_Noodles, stupid question, but why do not you just put sounds inside RA2 folder if you are using Ares rather than packing up whole bag file?
I do not know why is game not reading new bag file, I never messed with that, I always in past put whole bag in RA2 folder if I remember correctly.

Weird. Considering that the game should actually read .bag/.idx files from expandXX.mix files, even if the vanilla game .bag/.idx files are present in audiomd.mix. Might want to try what MasterHaosis suggested and place them in game directory and see if it works. If it does not, then something is obviously wrong.

My mix so far is just basically expandmd02.mix

Well so far other sounds play right when overridden. The Spy ones I converted from RA3 don't work somehow.

Check their filenames and formats. And be sure no filenames are the same.

I have no troubles with bags in expandmd tho I always make sure that all my additions are IMA 22kHz monod.

Have to say guys,when you have 2000 new audio files as PCM, the end result is smaller in IMA expanding YR bag than without.

Atomic_Noodles, send me some wavs, I will convert them, send you back, then try again importing into bag. If problems still occur, then it is real problem.

Dubs soloution

I already had this problem with another game.
The only solution to it would be to make the file names alittle longer and change Sound.INI to refect your change.
It will take ages to change all the entires but the game wount try to play your audio.bag and the game audio.bag causing silence on your end.

its the only way i knew how to over ride without errors.

Try it out.

yeah you might wanna edit the ini because ive done this and at the same time replaced some, and the ones i replaced the game plays them corrupted or not at all and the ones i added worked perfect

I don't think the game reads custom audio.bag and audio.idx files from mix files. Have you tried them loose in the directory?
