I have been driving crazy on why my tank is firing rockets instead of shells. Then I finally got why, the mapper included some sort of mod in his map file that changes something that made my tank fire rockets and i kept doing my test there since I liked the look of said map.
When you make a map that isn't supposed to be a mod then don't mess with the stats plz. Thanks everyone for your attention. 2 hours wasted for nothn.

Lol. I don't think you got the map your talking about from PPM though (FAFAIK none of the maps that are uploaded here include rules that modify buildable units).

Many of those maps are utter shit, anyway.

That's why it's good to give your new unit a complete new ID.
Then it also can't happen, that any of the many hardcoded stats take effect.
e.g.
155MM
HMEC
ARTYHE

155MM and ARTYHE have hardcoded stats? Never heard of that before.

yes, they are.
ARTYHE will never display the yellow explosions. It will only be the grey ones....
155mm has a fixed damage stat. You can't change this one

They were patched when the artillery was said to be too strong. I actually dislike how it is now, but it is was true, they were far too strong (then again, nerfing it in three ways, via weapon, warhead and the accuracy ratio... Well, Westwood Very Happy)

Infantry E2 is also hardcoded to explode. That's WW logic indeed: creating a customizable ini system, then still hardcoding behind its back.

They were lazy. It was easier for them to hardcode something instead of writing it in the INIs.

Can't you dodge all of that with different weapons and warheads? I'd hate to think this is tied right to a unit with no way to change it at all...

Afaik you can, as it's linked to respectively warhead and weapon (from what I remember of my own TS edits).

The map btw was Chasm Duel. It is now the only map giving me an IE at the startup xD
The custom unit LEVIATAN with a custom weapon 75mm had rockets instead of its tank gun.

So just use new IDs for units, weapons, warheads etc.
That's also why TI uses MMKII as the ID for the mammoth and not HMEC anymore.
