Just found some INI's,
Code:
day.ini
dusk.ini
ion.ini
morning.ini
night.ini


What are they used for? Are they included in a map file or something, or just random leftovers? They appear to be day/night loops.

If I'm not mistaken, ion.ini is for the ion storm.

Yeah they do work if pasted into a map so probably that. You can select the time of day when generating a map.

They are loaded for the purpose of adding the Day, Night, Ion Storm cycles when generating a random scenario.

*thinking aloud* Does that mean you could theoretically inject custom code into random maps by editing those?

I thought random maps had fixed lighting, no loops.

These are triggers, actions and events, they don't touch the Lighting settings of the map at all (except for ion.ini). In fact, they read the initial 'time of day' before triggering.

I think it would be similar to TSstdmap.ini from FinalSun, it just gets pasted in the map.

Well, if that really works that way, then you could also add custom lighting to your random maps by simply adding the complete [Lighting] section to one of these inis.
