For the last 4 days or so i have been working on a program called voxel builder, its still in early development but i need to know if it has any potential (as in is it likely noone will use it if it is finished).

The Idea
The idea behind it is to have 3 editing views(similer layout to wills original) where it differs from the Voxel Editors is it isn't a pixel by pixel editor, you create a basic rough voxel out of cubes, its like level editors for 3d games(Worldcraft/Valves Hammer, for Half-Life).

After you ahev amde a rough voxel you can export it as a VXL and then do the "finishing touches", since its not pixel by pixel, it should save time.

Status
Currently you can only create cubes, once there made you can't edit them(this will change, its just the fact it ain't been programmed in yet), once its compleate, you will be able to move, resize, delete, recolour, etc the cubes.

Usage
Goto File -> New, enter a size (50*30*30 is good for testing).

Click and drag on one of the views, you will note all views haev a different angle on the cube. if you move the mouse over one of the rectangles edges on a view you will note the directional arrows, you can resize it using them, once you are happy right click on a view and select "Create Cube". The cube will be created.

Extra Info
Right clicking on the 3d view brings up more options for views, magnification, etc.

You can make the cube erase insted of draw by clicking on the erase icon, and you can make it draw again by clicking on the draw icon.

This program was built from the VXLSE source, and heavily modifyed.

The Note
Please note, this program is only 4 days(or 5 can't rememeber) old and is not compleate.

Please give feedback, if you think it has potential or not.

Not with ease(its a compleatly different system, the basic's are the same but both are very different, its like a car n a tank, they are both similer, they are both vehicle) unless your thinking of a plugin like the hva plugin.

In the current build you can edit the cubes, change there size, colour, etc, judt need to make it so you can "move" them around. (Basic selection system to select a cube to edit, you can delete cubes too)

have u seen the sim city 3000/SC3K unlimited architect tool? in the early days when the voxel editor first made its debut, i thought the tool was very similar to it(except for the isometric/3d view) maybe yours is even more similar

btw where do i find the download to the latest version of the voxel editor you made/modified
(EDIT:nvm found it)

Here is a version where you can edit the cubes (note, you need to click on the button with the hand writing on paper)

Iv included my first voxel (well its actualy a svxl, which is the new format vxlbuilder uses).

Wonder how it would look in TS/RA2.

note: the "move" doesn't work right some times as it resizes the cube, this happens only wiht cunes that have width/height/depht that is even numbers. ("move" as in click and drag n the whole thing moves)
