I just had an idea, something that is similar to RA3 style, but little different, however I'm not sure if this logic will actually work.

Using the deploy action. Let say that if I want to make GI deploy into a different GI using heavier weapon and move slower? Or how about peacekeeper deploy into Riot shield and move slower? But the deploy action logic makes me curious because it is defined as stationary mode.

Perhaps RA2 engine is different than TS, rather that units deploy into units and not units deploy into structures as it is done in TS.

But, probably this could be pulled off?

Nope. The only workaround for that is to use the mutation logic. And that has its downsides too. Check the tutorial page.

AttachEffect could also be an option but being infantry if there will be bugs about it like if there are 3 infantry on the same cell.

With AttachEffect you increase the Damage and lower the Speed of that infantry but as stated it will have some bugginess to it.

Unit transformation has been tried before using a exe hack and workaround of siege chopper logic but is buggy.

Maybe in a distant Ares build this can be looked into.

you can use LH_Mouse's NPExt, not suggested

i would love it if vehicle transforming came to Ares, IMO it would be the best feature ever but maybe not everyone would agree

Ignore this. Unit Transform logic does not work for infantry. I'm afraid it ain't possible.
