Get the XCC program, goto Westwood/SUN directory, click on TIBSUN.MIX, then right-click on local.mix and extract it to sun directory. Then get the XCC Mix Editor and open the local.mix that u extracted, and place your .vxl and .hva file in it, then click compact. And that's it. Wink Don't forget to add the stuff in your rules.ini & art.ini. Hope this helps. Very Happy

here's how i do it: download/make the voxel
open the XCC Mix editor, and then make a new expand, called expand02. Save it to youre directory. then you open that folder with the XCC mix editor, and put the desired voxels with theyr'e hva's in it. then save it to your'e TS directory. After that, all you need to do is edit the art.ini to get the image (like newtnk1) , and then you make the unit have that image by typing in the name you gave it in the art.ini in the rules.ini

listen to fremen, hes doing the right way, goldy's way works cept modifying the local.mix is not advisable, imagine if you decide to make a mod for public and it has to go with the local.mix in order for your new vxl to work #Tongue ...darn big filesize...

never modify the TS original .mix is advisable for mod making.

this guy is new, why overcomplicate things, all he needs to do is place the VXL, rules.ini, etc in the game directory(c:\westwood\sun).

You don't need to do the XCC crap, thats only if you want it to look neet.

what you mean by resize? resizing a vxl can be done two ways, one is the 2x Option in VXLSE2 and the other is rescaling..

Hyjacking a thread is where you don't post to help the original guy but ask a different question, then ppl reply and b4 you know it the first guy isn't getting any responces cos everyone is replying to the "hyjacker".

Hence why its always good to click new thread when wanting to know something.

me to

Daniel_pilsner_head you can't hyjack your own thread.

Anyway, on topic.

to get a new voxel on TS, you need to add it and its hva (you need HVA Edit to make one) into the Tiberian Sun Directory, you need to add bits to the rules.ini for a new unit, and art.ini.

(Id go into more detail if i was actualy a modder)
