Cherenkov radiation from Nuclear Reactors is blue in real life.
This is not still a realistic nuclear reactor and doesn't have to be, but it brings a new level.

In the .ini, if you use the blue versions, you can change to:

RadColor=0,128,255 ; The blue color of the radiation.

For brighter green:
RadColor=96,255,96

For orange, I guess:
RadColor=255,128,0

Nuclear Reactor animations
- Blue and blue radiation
- Green radiation

PD: Updated with two orange versions.

ngreact_blue= blue version, no glow

Be sure to use DoubleThick=yes for these versions:
ngreact_bluerad= Glowing blue version
ngreact_bluerad2= Glowing blue version, more intense details

Use [NAREACT_BLUE] and NewTheater=yes

Note there is no "n" after "na" in this version (NAREACT, not NANREACT)

ngreact_r = green radiation
ngreact_r2 = more radical

A preview with merged shadows:

(note there's actually at least 10 included files, this is just one of them)

Enjoy!

You might want to include an orange one since some people use orange radiation like Generals had.

Here ya go...
https://hotfile.com/dl/200530878/0f42c4d/Nuclear_Reactor.rar.html

Code:
RadColor=252,188,0

This is a drag and drop replace one. This will override the original Nuclear Reactor in the game if you place it in a custom mix file.

You'll need Ares if you want the Radiation Color to also be adjusted to your new color since Vanilla RA2/YR Radiation is hard-coded to only be green in Snow Theatre.

If I am not mistaken, in Npatch you can do different custom radiations with custom warheads and colors and stuff.

I have made a pair custom versions of the orange one as well, if anyone wants them just say it and I upload them (more glowy, also different colours etc.)

I have noticed .shp maker doesn't have an auto-convert from a scheme set to yellow cheme (for example, soviet to yellow, green to yellow, etc.), how can this be done besides individual "colour replace"?

Yeah NPatch has custom radiations, they just come with some bugs.

As for color issue, if not wanna do with individual color replace, then make your own cscheme file to do the job.

SHP Builder scripts are inaccurate anyhow, they pixelate.

Radiation blue huh? seems according to wikipedia its so in reactor core, not in cooling towers but outside an reactor core they don't have color but makes more sense than WW's atleast.

I ignore how to create a cscheme, it would be easier to just save the colourreplace on the .shp maker.

Well, Westwood used green because of popular culture... but in reality basically only natural uranium radiation is green, and not much more. It would be seen on the mines and such.

NimoStar, good job for that.

Personally, yellow/orange is much better choice, because green is more for toxin, but we could just add new rdiation colors that would be awesome.

It's kinda gonna be necro-post, but i'm interested in this topic and hope smbd can explain it a bit. Plus orange variant provided by Atomic_Noodles is not available anymore, maybe smbd has one in own archives?

I wonder how to make one variant as standard and another as an upgrade?(like allied Power Plant, that only changes glowing core colour)

they do it with that old tiberian sun era plug logic. except instead of displaying a plug animation, it displays an
alternate version of the active animation over the building.

No problem: I updated the file with two new orange versions (with and without light) as I had lost them too.
