can SHP in TS be air unit as TD had orcas SHP-ed ?

I know from somewhere when its killed IE is shown
but if unit is unkillable ?

SHP AircraftTypes are entirely impossible. In TS and also in RA2.

Only alternative is a flying VehicleType which can be an SHP. But flying vehicles have the invincibility issue where only railguns can damage them in midair. (See the many research topics about flying vehicles)

Holy Master has SHP aircraft in Reign of Steel.  They're completely doable in RA2 if you're OK with balloonhover.

TS though..  yeah, nope.

a) Read closely. I wrote AircraftTypes. Balloonhover units are VehicleTypes.

About the invincibility issue with Jumpjets that aren't infantry, wouldn't a work around be making a infantry that looks more like a plane(if that's somehow possible) probably have to make another type of building for them to come out of as well.

Because I doubt its as simple as going to a infantry and changing its image to Orca. That's asking for a IE.

Making an infantry that looks like an aircraft is indeed doable, although it then won't be able to land on a helipad, it won't be able to reload its ammo (so you can't give it limited ammo), it'll "walk" to locations that are close by (rather than fly), it can't have more than 8 facings and it'll use the tiny infantry selection box.

as I never did SHP vehicle, what happens to it when it needs to tilt
by either terrain or a weapon shot at it ? #Tongue

Wolverine and Titan are SHPs showing this from the beginning. Wink

And you don't fool the AI or any player controlled unit that is standing near the "mirage". The auto-targeting still sees this as a perfectly normal unit.

Civilian=yes perhaps? #Tongue
With that, only force firing and retaliation will work against it, and it will be completely ignored otherwise.
But i think it works only for infantry...

maybe this: Category=Civilian
I see visceroids use it, although don't know if it will collide with Owner=Nod/GDI tag

As far as I know the Category tag is only used for the AI (TeamTypes mostly).

So it knows how to handle the unit (i.e. is it a transporter, combat unit, artillery, etc)

Yeah, that's possible, but why would you want that? IIRC the Mirage Tank always changes back to its tank form whenever it starts firing in RA2 as well.

I'm not sure if the hack has been posted anywhere, but anyone is free to ask for it if they need it. Hyper first gave it to me after all and he has no issues with sharing it (although he didn't document it FAFAIK, so he'll redirect anyone who asks for it to me anyhow =P).

No, it won't be included in HyperPatch because it doesn't work 100% perfectly. The main issue is that after applying this hack the first frame of SHP vehicles won't be north, but it'll be 1 facing before north-east (and the 30th frame will be north).
This alone is already enough reason for Hyper to not want to include the hack in HyperPatch, but an additional issue is that after applying the hack all SHP units will have to use 32 facings (or 1 facing) and having just 8 facings will no longer be possible (meaning that the original Wolverine, Titan, Juggernaut, Cyborg Reaper and Core Defender will then no longer work).

Ah guys, you have there much of SHP Vehicles.
We have only Terror Drone as vehicle as Squid and Dolphin as Navy.
What are Limpet Drones there, shps or voxels?
