I havent covered the weekend properly in PPM. If you guys havent watched our forums recently, then certainly lost a lot (200 posts per day is being really hard to moderate).

SPOTLIGHT: SHP (TS) FORMAT RESEARCH AND NEW TOOL BEING DEVELOPPED

- We have recently started a research to understand the SHP (TS) format to make tools like an SHP Editor or other tools that optimize SHP production. Fortunatelly, our researchs and our SHP Test program that Stucuk and I coded (although Stu is the main coder) have progressed very fast. We managed to make the program read correctly all kind of SHP (TS) files. Stu also managed to make it produce a SHP file (successfully read by XCC), but it's still uncompressed. We still need to test the compressed encoding function, but this won't take much time. Of course that none of this would be possible if Olaf Van der Spek didnt made the XCC Utilities and made it open source. Our plans are to make an interface to transform it into an SHP Editor and also some extra tools to optimize some functions that takes a lot of time from modders...

You can check our progress, download the latest public source code, run it and even make your own SHP Tool in Delphi from it in this topic in the TS Research Center, which means that only registered users can view it.

2 New Voxels (originally designed for Tiberian Sun):

- An air unit was recently submitted by Terror. This unit was originally made for PPM:FD. You can check it and download it here

- Firestorm has submited his New Heavy Tank that honestly looks awesome. You can download it here.

1 New SHP file (originally designed for Tiberian Sun):

- Firestorm has submitted a package of RA2 explosions converted to TS size/palette. You can view screenshots and download the pack here.

JASC to C&C Palette Converter 1.2 is available to public:

- Last week I have finished the JASC to C&C palette converter 1.2. I will no longer work on this tool, since there is nothing to add to it. Everyone can download it here. Also, if you have a tool that you made and you want to spread it to modders, feel free to upload it (in an attachment of a reply) to that topic and, as long as it has no virus and it's usefull, we will promote it as well.

There are more things to happen soon, but not now.. for now, that's all, folks and have a nice day.
