Creating turrets for GDI that come with a turret is a simple thing apart from one major flaw. They can not be incorporated into walls.

The Walltower allows only for one entry. Any workaround known? Something maybe for Hyper.

Or just edit the GDI concrete wall SHP to make the wall edge parts look like the connecting parts Razz

Walls have no remap.
Component tower remap doesn't matter.

If he made the Regular Walls have the component Tower Plug-Ins as the Corners, There's the problem of the team color not changing from red.

Actual Component Towers would be fine since they're actual buildings which can change team colors.

That's not what Bittah meant.
A wall has frames for
-single wall
-connection SE/NW, NE/SW
-corner pieces
etc
the normal wall end piece, makes the wall end in the middle of a cell with the wall going down.
What Bittah meant, is to make the wall end pieces stop abruptly at the cell border. e.g. using the inner wall segments (SE/NW) now as an end piece.

This way custom component tower placed next to the end pieces still connect fine

Ahhh now I get what you mean... I thought he meant he wants the edges to look like the component tower pieces.

If Hyper figures out a fix for multiple Walltowers would be nice if that could be shared to Ares as well.

Still, that wouldn't allow you to place the Comp. Tower on the wall.

Maybe so, but how hard is it to just sell individual wall sections? It might not be as convenient as an actual wall tower, but at least it'll look right.

from a mere aesthetic viewpoint it looks wrong. Also the main purpose of the new towers is to save time in the micro, having to sell wall segments is a nuisance. May I ask how the RPG can fire over walls? placing it behind a wall the shot is blocked.

Its not really a big issue.

The RPG turret can already fire over walls to begin with Confused

And personally I also wouldn't even place RPG turrets in walls, considering destroying them will then instantly make a gap in the wall and just placing the RPG turret behind the wall even offers it some extra protection. So I personally don't think that having any turrets connect with the wall is necessary in the first place; that fact it's possible might be neat, but it's not exactly practical (even placing the turret in front of the wall instead of behind is more practical that placing it in the wall IMO).

It would have been nice if the wall connection actually provides a slight advantage, like giving the component tower additional 100 hitpoints for every wall that connects with it. (so max 400 additional hitpoints are possible)
Or if the other way round, the component tower improves the walls. e.g. repairing the component tower automatically repairs the connecting walls too.

if the wall becomes a normal structure (da heck is a wall anyway) couldn't all the turrets be made an upgrade for the wall segment?
competitive multiplayer gameplay always differentiated a lot from how the game is played otherwise where you can afford building "pretty".

The wall is overlay.

Changing the wall into a normal structure is possible, but then it will no longer be able to change its image depending on other adjacent wall pieces, it will also no longer be able to block projectiles (so all projectiles will fly over it) and it will only be able to have 2 damage stages (walls currently have 3).
