I'm just practicing SHPing my voxels. I would like to have some feedbacks on SHPing.

shp tanks won't go up hills like voxel ones. Some mods have a unit called dozer which flips tanks, that may not work either, big explosions making the tanks shake are also not working I think. Do carryall transports look good with shp units? drowning in water? Iron curtain effect looking good on shp?

1) Can't do anything with that...

2) Units just explode instantly

3) SHP Units get rendered on top (Remember those screenshots of some person making Hornets buildable in Airpads and the Hornets picked up GIs the GIs look like they're riding Hoverboards)

4) Same as 3

5) Same visual effect as Iron Curtained Buildings.

You have to make use of the advantages of SHPs and these are
-anti-aliasing: your tank looks horrible pixelated
-perfect lighting: your tank has no lighting at all. Here SHPs can really trump VXL as they can have metallic reflections, selfshadowing and many texture effects (e.g. even a simple mirror effect can be done)
-shadow: needs to be done at last, but you can give it some really visible shadow following the lighting of all other objects like buildings and terrain. (VXL have only a shadow that has the same size of the section and it is drawn almost directly below the unit, thus almost not visible)

SHP-Builder gif-export causes bad palette issues in the gif.
Better you export the frames as png, then create a gif from these using a free gif creator tool.

The way you see a SHP in SHP-Builder is the same you see it ingame (provided you view it in the right palette and ingame is no strange lighting set)
