OmegaBolt's entry: 3rd Place
Detail: The community needs more well made island maps, and this is one of them. A good attention to detail has been made throughout the map, despite the majority of it being made up of water. Good cliff-work and equally nice shore placement gives this map a good score for detail. Nice job.
8/10
Layout: Creating an interesting layout for maps that consist of islands can be tricky, but it is done well here. There are some great tactical opportunities and various large and small islands for you to take control of and capture tech structures. The map offers some excellent naval warfare, though ground forces won't be of much usage on most parts of the map.
7/10
Lighting: I like the lighting, both globally and in terms of light posts. This map also contains a day and night loop trigger which really helps to create an atmosphere. The lighting is excellent all round, given the fact that there isn't much you can do with the YR engine.
9/10
Gameplay: The map is ideal for online play, unfortunately, not so much for skirmish matches. As the map mostly offers naval tactics, there isn't much else you can do other than airbourne and amphibious assaults, but the map is bound to be excellent fun online, especially as a part of any mod that improves the overall naval warfare. I enjoyed the map and I have always thought the community needed more maps like this.
7/10
Triggers/Effects: Nice work. A nice Day/Night loop trigger and some atmospheric sounds thrown around the map help to give this map an excellent atmosphere.
8/10
Overall - 39/50
As far as island warfare maps go, this one is one of the best I've seen. Unfortunately they don't offer much for Skirmish matches for those of you that don't play online very often, but in terms of naval warfare and online games, it is a brilliant map to have in your archives. Great job, Bolt.
