Hello everyone. Sorry for the silence in my news posts. University is once again being my nightmare. There were a lot of interesting things happening in this month. Unfortunately, it's being hard for me, due to real life conditions, to follow them in the way they deserve. So, I'll just mention the top news that happened recently here. For everything else, visit our website and check the News Tracker, although I'm aware that I need to tune it up once my university gives me some time to breath in order to make it catch every news it deserves.

Ares 0.3 has been released!

Ares 0.3 is online and it should allow Yuri's Revenge modders to add even more interesting features at their mods, such as gattling cycle, custom missiles and it also fixes the Whiteboy bug, which should allows a bazillion of units with no problems in the sidebar of your mod.

Here's the announcement from AlexB:

Quote:
Summer just started on the northern hemispere and, as promised, here is Ares 0.3. This also means it's three days before Christmas on the southern hemisphere. Perfect time to release it. Wink

You all know what's in 0.3, so I won't reinterate Custom Missiles, Cyclic Gattling and the Whiteboy fix here.

If the included version of Syringe does not work for you right away, see the readme file. It will point you to the runtime file you're most likely missing. Also, Ares now rejects certain game versions and thus won't launch. If this happens, you can find the reason in syringe.log. I haven't yet found the time to make it properly display an error message, sorry.

Happy modding!

And, as someone who lives in the most catholic country of the southern hemisphere (that claims to be secular), I assure you that we celebrate Christmas in our winter, at the same date as those in the north hemisphere (except Russia and few other countries) do. Also, the videos above mentions the features of the version 0.2, so you can figure out whatelse you can do with Ares in your mod.

D-Day 3.7 has been released a couple of weeks ago

D-Day a total conversion brings the World War 2 to your Yuri's Revenge, featuring beautiful graphics, a myriad of units and an entirelly different gameplay experience from the original game. The version 3.7 includes Hungary as a new playable country, 47 new buildings and units that are rare in other WW2 games, new subfactions for America (Marine Corps and Army), four new maps based on real world scenarios (Berlin, Arnhem, Wake Island, Suez Canal),  among many other things. Here's a screenshot of the Suez Canal:

Download the mod at D-Day's Official website and check D-Day's Forums at PPM to discuss it.

I am always impressed what you can achieve with binary hacking only because that probably requires quite the effort in reverse engineering.

The D-Day mod looks very high quality. Nicely done!
