yuri problem alt-tab desktop switching issue

I started today yuris revenge (version 1.001)
after loadig the game quits into desktop,
and no way to open the game again.
Start game quits to desktop and over and over until i close the game with
the taskmanadger.

That being said, we do have a few tech-savy folks around here that don't appear often on the XWIS forums. To help us help you, can you answer a few diagnostic questions?

Firstly, when the game quits to desktop, do you see any message/error screen of any sort? Do you get a message stating "Yuri's Revenge has stopped working..." or ".. has encountered a problem and needs to close." What about "... has encountered an Internal Error"?

What operating system are you running? Do you know what graphics hardware is in your system?

Does the screen go black for any amount of time? Do you see the Yuri's Revenge loading screen at all? Do you get to the game menu and then crash?

In the subject you mentioned alt-tabbing. When did you alt-tab and how did it affect the situation? Did you alt-tab while loading, and then experience the crash, or were you forced to alt-tab due to the crash?

Also, if you're using Windows Vista or Windows 7, tick the "Run As Administrator" box under the compatibility tab.

And make sure DirectX isn't broken and at the minimum required version. (Also, make sure your graphics card isn't broken, obviously.)

Do you have multiple screens? Have you tried running the game in windowed mode? Is this a tablet, a virtual machine, a server installation, or anything else besides a generic desktop Windows installation?

What others said above plus.
If your using UAC in Vista or Windows 7/8, I suggest installing the game in top folder of C drive "C:\". This seems to fix a lot of problems. I'm also aware of a Problem which does not occur with Yuri Disc, but occurs with TFD disc, in which if you Alt Tab in multi-player game online, the game will get stuck down and cannot be maximized, and it's process must be close din task-manger. Funny thing though, this does not happen with TFD + Ares. I think it has something to do with Westwood's CD checker in TFD.
