Hello PPMSite, I seem to frequently stumble upon an Internal Error for Tiberian Sun, running my own mod. I'm not exactly sure what causes this, I'm pretty sure that it's either the Obelisk or Disruptor Tank that causes it to crash. It seems to happen after a while of playing (Skirmish). Does anybody know? Would anybody mind looking at my except.txt file and tell me if they see anything wrong?

You've posted this in the wrong section of the forum though. A mod should move this later. So, if you have questions please post it the games forum. Smile I can't read except files, but there is a way to find out. Get the EIP and google it. Usually works. Give it a try.

Ahhh, it was just the WaveClass common error which happens in stock TS too, phew. I'm gonna try using the ddraw.dll see if that works. Thank you! Smile I'm sorry that I posted in the wrong forum but I really didn't know which one to post in..

If it's a TS-related thingies, post it in the TS section. If it's in RA2YR, then it is in that section and so on.

HyperPatch ( http://ppmsite.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=31604 ) fixes the Disruptor crash, and you can fix the laser crash by setting Detail Level to 1 (or 0, but that makes the lazers extremely ugly).

ddraw.dll seems to cause my TS to only show nothing but a black screen and my mouse cursor. Anyone has a solution for this?

Everything that specific ddraw.dll does is disabling hardware acceleration, which simply isn't possible in Vista and Windows 7 (resulting in a black screen). No solution exists for that. Just use Hyperpatch, set your Detail Level to 1, and be happy.

Delete it. It doesn't work on Vista/Win7.

Hyperpatch won't work for me, since I've lost my CD and the No-CD Crack is simply unfindable for me. Plus I am using ETS..

Technically, TS is a freeware game now. You can download it from the official cnc site here.

That is what I'm using, but Hyperpatch requires a CD, and I can't get the No-CD crack to work, and I'm not gonna use that anyway since I still want the ETS features to work since they are essential to my mod.

I've tried applying the patch to my game, tho I'm not sure if it's set to work for game.EXE or gamemd.EXE. But it doesn't fix the WaveClass error, and I'm not really sure what to do to make it work if this really does fix the error, which it doesn't say anywhere on the page... Sad

ah sorry, i mixed that up. It's only a performance improvement bugfix and not a WCE (waveclasserror) fix.
Anyway it was worth a try as the way the game renders stuff is changed via this fix too.

As written there it's a fix for all 3 games. Look at the table for the tiberian sun offsets.
TS has only a game.exe. gamemd.exe is from YR.

to apply the fix manually you have to
-take a hex editor (e.g. Notepad++ with hex editor plugin)
-go to the described offset (position in game.exe)
-change the 4 bytes on that offset with the ones written in the fix. (if the 4 bytes in your ETS game.exe don't match 3C 01 75 0C, then it isn't compatible and you shouldn't change them)

Thank you very much! But isn't there any other way to fix the WaveClass problem? Sad

EDIT : Never mind. IT WORKS! The game also runs much smoother now in a way, thank you so very much! The WCE is now fixed for me.
