lol he srsly expected authenticity?
stories about real wars never are authentic especially not when they want to really tell you the truth and how it really happened, what people then really felt and endured.

its hollywood action drama made to enjoy.
His view of the soviets being the "good guys" and the nazis being the bad guys is troublesome tough.

While it's fun and interesting to see another opinion that guy doesn't actually seem to make any good points. I didn't watch the whole thing as I got bored about 15 mins in but he seems to be trying to desperately claw back credibility for the atrocities committed by all sides.

For example I don't know why it's completely unbelievable that any side would torch a house full of civilians. I don't know why he thinks scorched earth wasn't used, as if it didn't make any sense at the time (obviously from the ground it doesn't make any sense but from an inhuman top down logistical view I understand it). I don't know why he thinks massacring 158,000 people (at least the number he quoted there) for desertion isn't actually that bad simply because the percentage is low. And I don't know why throughout the whole thing he keeps saying the character is a girl because he seems to be disillusioned by war.

War is bad! That's the entire point isn't it? Though I understand America rarely gets good criticism in popular entertainment, but unfortunately the US is a big market and they don't want to face any kind of genuine national critique.

I didn't play the game either.

It seems obvious you didn't watch the full video then...
He's calling Relic out for creating a ridiculous narrative that the Soviets were their own enemies nearly as much as the Germans.

It's a presentation that is decidedly anti-Soviet, which frankly belies the entire intention of the series.
