I'm wondering if anybody knows how bridge shadows are positioned.

The left side screenshot of OS SHP builder clearly shows that the shadow frame aligns the shadow to the bottom and right of non-shadow overlay. The image on the right shows how the game actually renders them directly beneath each other. What else affects the position of the shadow?

The only thing I can think of is the fact that shadows are displayed incorrectly in SHP builder for most if not all buildings and terrain items. They're usually fudged down or up and to the right or left. I'd take this into account for a good reason as to why.

Otherwise I don't know any bridge specific data that you can tag it with that would move the shadow, nor do I see a reason to add it, not that WW wouldn't make up some stupid reason to do it.

However, Westwood is not hardcoding. They just used the code is not amenable to logic, to mix SHP.

There's no code in the SHP to support the shadow frames though. If changed to a SHP extension, it still shadows the same as above-left.

Well I guess it is hardcoded. Figures as much, changing the bridges is a quite difficult thing to do regardless due to the fact we have no proper tool to do so, even with TMP studio.

Glad to have you back around zzattack.
