Request Infantry SHPS
Subject description: Colonel Volgin, The Boss, Ocelot Unit, etc.
Good day. I believe also that this is the right place to request and I was hoping I could request for SHP models of the following people that I could make use of in RA2.
1. Colonel Volgin
2. The Boss
3. Ocelot Unit
4. Naked Snake (Sneaking Suit MGS3 and his starting MGS3 outfit).
5. Escort
6. KGB Commando (MGS Peace Walker)
7. Commando (Standard MGS Peace Walker Commando that appears when called for back-up)
8. GRU Soldier (MGS3)
This is The Boss. She must be wielding the Patriot in the SHP version.
These are the Ocelot Units. They are the elite soldiers of Spetsnaz under Ocelot's command.
The GRU Soldiers that you will encounter in Operation Snake Eater of MGS3.
Colonel Volgin, the Thunderbolt. In the SHP sequence he just use his powers to electrocute opponents with great ease.
Naked Snake, otherwise known as Big Boss in his staring suit in MGS3. As for the Sneaking Suit, it must be blue.
Escort. This is the one that you'll regularly see during Tank battles, Chopper Battles, and Armored Vehicle Battles. In the SHP file it must come in different types (Machine Gun, Rocket Launcher, Shotgun, and Sub-Machine Gun version).
This one is the KGB Soldiers that take part in Peace Walker. What I just want is the Blue one. Just remap it to the Soviet Color.

Infantry are extremely rare made and i doubt anyone is doing even 8 of them.
Just to give you an impression.
About 1 of 100 active modders is creating SHPs (about 10 here on PPM active and they all work on their own projects)
70 of 100 SHPs are vehicles
20 of 100 SHPs are buildings (though only about 1 of 20 ever get really finished, most stop in the middle when they notice how much work has to go in them)
7 of 100 SHPs are mixed stuff like animations, interface etc

It IS big. 99% of the mods has no custom infantry.

Try create an infantry yourself, then you know how much work it is.
1. learn to create 3d models
2. learn to rig a 3d model
3. learn to animate the rigged model
4. create an infantry model
5. rig the model
6. animated the model
7. render then model in separate frames (usually about 500-1000 frames, and yes, you have to create the animations matching the C&C style)
8. convert the rendered frames into SHP
steps 4-8 can take about 10 to 30 hours of work. And you even want 11. So about 110-330 hours of work.
Considering that not everyone works 24 hours a day on them, this would take about 7-24 weeks with 2 hours work each day.
Well I don't work (not that earn money either), and I've got a pretty nice render card set up, 6-8 takes maybe an hour tops, and all these models SHOULD be somewhere. But yes, rigging does take about 4 hours a piece (assuming this is for a non-3D engine), so it is still a good 60 hours of work (less if I can figure out how to save animations to a bone-set).
Agreed that it is a large job.
EDIT: Found the models, no idea if they're rigged yet, we'll see.

If the colors bother you recoloring them shouldn't be the biggest task to do and can be done by you. Infantry is so small in RA2 that you can't see most of the details anyway. _________________ Free Tibed!
