Hello everyone! Today, Lin Kuei Ominae has released a new version of his TMP Shop, known as 01.01.00.06. This tool allows you to tweak several aspects of the TMP files used in Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2. This version brings the following features:

-(update) [Tools] menu added with "Palette Analyzer & Converter" option
-(update) Palette Analyzer & Converter offers functions to
  • analyze palette usage (list how many pixel use every color of the palette)
  • list files using a certain color
  • convert palette of tmp files using a color scheme file

The picture below shows the palette analyzer in action.

However, the feature that might be more interesting is the custom scheme one. You'll be able to quickly change colours used in TMP files. The custom schemes used in this program seem to be a simplified version of the ones used in the OS SHP Builder and VXLSE III, at least, according to the sample that was included in the package.

Head to this topic at PPM forums to download it and have fun!

I actually hadn't looked at the sample cscheme yet, but now that I have it actually does indeed seem a bit more convenient.
Under [Data] you only include the colors that you actually wanna change and leave everything else away, unlike with the OS SHP Builder/VXLSE III cscheme where you have include every single color (including the ones that remain the same).

Would it be doable to simplify the cscheme for OS SHP Builder and VXLSE III in this manner as well? It does make the task of creating a cscheme a bit easier after all.

You might wanna fix that [/list:u] in the quote btw.
For some reason PPM always adds that :u after /list whenever you use the quick edit function...

Yea, after I saw his custom schemes, I've thought about simplifying the one from VXLSE III/OS SHP Builder.

And the news post has been fixed.
