Subject description: what are these pieces?

If you look at the pic and see the blue "circle" what are these pieces used for. I am creating new slopes and before I go on any further with this particular tileset I need to know what these are used for.

the first 4 are for hills which are 3 height levels high and are used for slopes that reach from the lowest to the highest level.
the last 4 are rarely use, because voxel units don't tilt on them and it looks weird when the unit drives over them like on flat ground while it's actually that "bumpy".

Also, I think it's worth mentioning that units can't move on the first 4 slopes.

That seems to be not quite correct. It looks like they are passable, but only for diagonal movement. Not for direct vertical/horizontal movement like from south to north for the 3rd tile.
I guess this was done, because otherwise the unit would climb 2 height levels with only 1 tile. Though any height difference bigger than 1 is considered to be a cliff (ground units can only climb 1 height level per tile)

See attached gif how the units zigzag up but still move directly on the steep slope

very nice showing those tiles at work. might be a little more involved than i want to get into with my current method of making tiles

Since you show the Marble Madness tiles there, I have a question.
  I would assume you can make Marble madness tiles.
 
  And I would assume that the same deal of creation of a normal tile goes into Marble Madness.

  If you look at the image I posted I am referring to the normal image. You have to be precise with the normal image and can't be lazy and use a full tile it has to look the same as the original as shown by the blue arrow??
