Merry christmas, commander! A lot of things happened while the site was down and many of them were important things, so here's a mini-round of what happened in this month, specially lately for christmas, but I have to admit that PPM might have other surprises soon:


Spotlight News:


- EALA has released the patch 1.01 and 1.02 for Generals: Zero Hour! For more details, check the comments as I'm posting the full details in the reply. You can download both patches at EA FTP or logging online in the game.



Important News:


- CnC Editing Tools/CnC Source: Stu has released a new version of the Voxel Section Editor, the VXLSE 2.0b SE because the original 2.0 SE had a serious bug that corrupted the header of the voxels. So, please, if you downloaded the 2.0 SE we heavly recommend you to download the VXLSE 2.0b SE. Download it at CnC Source.

- CnC Editing Tools: Stucuk is in need of guinea pigs, errr... I mean, beta testers Wink for Stu's Mod Manager 4.0. This program is a simple program that installs and uninstall mods very fast with a very nice interface without needing special file formats *cough*.sm2*cough*. You can find further info at this post with screenshots as well. Reply there to beta test it.

- CnC Unleashed: They are organizing a Zero Hour Map Contest! Here's the list of prizes:

1st Place receives:

-> Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun: Firestorm (The Tiberian Sun expansion)
-> Command & Conquer Renegade

- C&C Reloaded: FS-21 has released a new beta, the version 0.89 Beta 3, which includes the following changes:

-> Fixed graphic bugs on few TS train tiles & shores.
-> Fixed Brute & Repair weapons, now will not win range bonus on elevation of terrain.
-> Changed Elite weapon of the Chrono Legionnarie. Now can shot over the walls.
-> Changed Yuri loadscreen.
-> Added TS buildings (not buildable): Cabal Core, Kodiak, Montauk & Dam.
-> Added Core Defender & deployed version.
-> Added 1 new TS map to "Assault/Capture The Flag" Game Modes.
-> Added a new secret aircraft: A-10 Warthog (Tech Airport required).
-> Now all the desert maps of the Original Yuri's Revenge Game are converted on TS terrain.
-> Now the Nod Subterranean Transport is immune to radiation.
-> Updated AI.

And there are also loads of great screenshots of the new features like Core Defender, Kodiak and others over there... check it out Smile. The lucky beta testers that are lucky to have YR loading well (which is not my case) go there and check it out.

- Purple Alert: Marshall has released a YR Unofficial 1.002 Patch that fixes some bugs of the game and add few extra features. Here's the author's words on this:

"The YR Unofficial 1.002 Mini-Patch is a mod but without any modifications*. It fixes a myriad of minor bugs in Yuri's Revenge as well as providing support for the Assault game mode developed by CannisRabidus & DeeZire (visit C-GEN for more information). Also included is an optional enhanced AI, originally developed by DeeZire and adapted for use in normal Yuri's Revenge."

- Light Of Five Stars: LOFS team has started a christmas showcase showing loads of screenies of this mod which is really gonna be released in the next days. And, so far, the shots are very nice. Stay tuned in CnC Unleashed or LOFS site.



Tiberian Sun Mods:


- Tiberian Sun Retro: SMIFFGIG says everything in TumSun news...

Well I can say it is comming very soon, i cant place an exact date because.... I dont wanna Wink"


- Tiberian Sun: Total Wars: The DvD has posted some really nice screenies of Cabal and GDI Airforce. Check TumSun's news for more info.



Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge Mods:


- Mooman's Corner: Mooman will have his vacations now, which means that YR² will be on hold for 3 weeks.

- RA2 Des08tor: YR: Des08tor has announced that he is no longer working in this mod, because he is already busy with many other mods/projects. So, it's a pitty, but it's really gone.

- RA2: Exile Genobreaker reported some progress in his mod:

-> Iron Fist/SovMobWarFact.(Removed)
-> Kirov Gunship Added (NO longer to be Tech Stolen)
-> Stealth Bomber (Removed)
-> Chinook Transport (Added)

- Red Generals: Tratos has returned and this mod is finally leaving the 'graveyard mode'. We hope to see some good news from this mod soon.

- Sudden Strike: Sudden Strike site is down until January 1st due to excessive bandwidth used by fans to download the mod (which is a good sign). And also, if you are already expecting the version 1.1, Sydro has posted some of its features in SS forum and it's already a huge list. Check it out here. Remember that you can still download the mod at CnC Central.

- Tiberian Alert: Des08tor has announced that the mod has left the 'on halt' mode and he will be soon posting updates and unit previews on TA's site. They are also in need of staff (SHP artists as many other mods out there). If you have SHP skills and wanna help this great mod, contact [url=mailto:Des08tor@cncguild.net">Des0[/url].



Generals and Zero Hour Mods:


- Starcraft 2: Xel'Naga Vengeance: I've already heard about a lot mods for Generals, from the ones which simply adds new units while others that even bring medieval age for it, but this one certainly beats anything I've heard. You see the name? Yea, it will bring Starcraft to your C&C Generals: Zero Hour! The site will be available in 3 languages, but in the moment only russian works, but the banner already show some shots of the mod and I'm impressed. I hope to see more info on this mod and the english site working, because russian is too hard to understand for a brazilian.



Tiberian Sun Resources:


- CnC Central: The Kid has added:

-> Re-estabilishment (a sweetness TS map from Sk8erkid... if he does things like that for PPM, expect great maps #Tongue Very Happy)
-> Crossfire (also for both TS and FS, made by Zak)

- Tiberian Sun Station: dEw_MaN has made a map called Four Corner's Drive almost one month ago, but it's worth to be played, at least it has a good looking. Head to TSS to download it.



Red Alert 2 Resources:


- CnC Central: The Kid has added a Supersonic Jet cameo from Adragon.

- RA2: Savage War: Rattuskid and Clazzy have added the following stuff for download:

-> Allied medic (SHP made by Lord Kal, from Broken Alliance)
-> Zero hour to RA2 Cameo Packs, USA and China (made by DeeZel, from RA2: Massive Destruction)

- RADEN: Lion has added:

- Planet CnC: Planet CnC has posted inumerous files during the month. I really cant cover everything, but pay them a visit, not only because of the files, but because of their quality. They have been very updated with community news, files and contents. This is my personal "congratulations" for the Planet CnC team and their great work during this month Smile.

2. TUNNEL NETWORK SPEED - Reduced the build time of GLA Tunnel Networks to match that of Generals.

3. IMPROVED ONLINE STATS - Made improvements to the code that tracks statistics for multiplayer ranks and battle honors in Generals Online.

4. NEW COMMAND LINE PARAMETERS - Added "-quickstart" and "-mod" command line parameters to the Zero Hour executable.

5. BALANCE FIXES - Addressed balance issues for Jarmen Kell, the Pathfinder, and the Alpha Aurora Bomber.

6. DISAPPEARING SUPPLY DOCKS - Fixed an issue that caused supply docks to disappear during certain skirmish and LAN games.

7. CHINA HACKER FIX - Addressed an issue that caused Hackers located inside an Internet Center to stop hacking indefinitely after the structure is attacked by a Microwave Tank. Hackers now resume hacking after the Microwave Tank has stopped.

8. ADJUSTED CHAT SOUND EFFECT - Tweaked the audio cue for the communicator to only alert users to an incoming chat message. The audio cue will no longer sound for any non-chat related messages.

9. TEXT FIXES - Fixed text errors for the US Intelligence tooltip. It now correctly displays a five-minute recharge time, instead of two minutes. Also fixed text errors in the tooltips for the USA Drone Armor upgrade and China Nuclear Tank upgrades.

10. CRASH BUGS - Addressed bugs that caused the game to crash if you drop a bunker buster on garrisoned Tunnel Networks; and if you attempt to garrison the castle in mission GLA05 with any more than 14 units.

11. BLACK LOTUS EXPLOIT - Fixed an issue that caused Black Lotus to capture buildings as she is moving.

12. GLA BUILDING DESTRUCTION - Units now no longer have to be given three separate orders to completely destroy a single GLA structure.

13. GATTLING WEAPONS FIX - All Gattling weapons can no longer be made to fire through structures by force-firing.

14. STEALTH UNITS - Fixed an issue that caused certain stealth units to appear on an enemy's radar occasionally.

15. GENERALS CHALLENGE DIFFICULTY - The Generals Challenge campaign will no longer reset its difficulty when restarting a new campaign with one already in progress.

16. NUKE GENERAL MAP FIX - Addressed an issue that caused the Nuke General AI to build multiple Nuke Silos on top of each other.

Version 1.02 (December 2003) Changes:

- Fixed the missing particle effects (Alpha Aurora fuel-air bomb, other explosions)
- Fixed a bug that caused Stinger Site occupants to remain forever disabled after they’ve been attacked by a Microwave Tank.
- When building the Avenger, the War Factory is now the only requirement for the Laser General and USA General. The Strategy Center is no longer required.
- Technicals build slightly slower and cost 50 more credits for the Demo General.
- Also fixed the replay version problem Zero Hour 1.02 patch is available through your live auto update (always the best way to go) and through the EA FTP.
