I'm trying to learn normals painting as I have a ton of units but they lack good normals and the auto normals function is great but not perfect.  I've seen a "Sphere o' Normals" on the forum threads but the links to the downloads I've seen have been broken or a different object completely.  It lays out RA2 normals in there correct position, does someone have it.  I'm trying to do my own work but I have gaps in my own and I just need a little push.  If I'm completely out there in my thinking...be kind, it happens to me sometimes.

Here ya go, two spheres one with TS normals & another with RA2.

learning to hand draw RA2 normals is quite a task tho, there are so many I've never been able to get my head round it. I'd suggest learning TS normals first as they only use a fraction in comparison and so are a lot more manageable.
