Hello! I've been playing Tiberian Sun Firestorm lately, and I noticed that when you use EMP cannon on the ground below aircraft they won't go down.

I was wondering if in Yuri's revenge + ARES ca be done something like this:

Warhead that when it hits the ground it will effect the aircraft too.

I haven't seen such thing made in YR or saw any tutorial about it, so I ask. Is it possible?

You didn't understanded me.... I've readed the documentations a dozen times. I know that when an aircraft is hitted by EMP will crash. The question is :
Is it possible to make EMP weapon/warhead that when it hits the ground to make aircraft IN THE AIR crush by the EMP?

Very Happy I don't know how to put it, you keep saying the same thing.

YES, I have readed it! It says that.... quoting: "Aircraft will immediately crash." BUT if hitted. I am asking will they be effected if the EMP hits the ground, not them.

O.o ..... OK, what exactly you are pointing in the picture?


Edit: OK quick example:

EMP vehicle launches EM Pulse at enemy base with flying units and tanks. Because the weapon has warhead with big cell spread and range it will shutdown all units on the ground. But I am not shure if the aircraft (say choppers/ jets in mid air) will get emp-ed and crash. I know that if the weapon is AA EMP and hits the aircraft it will crash because it hits THE AIRCRAFT!

I am asking if the warhead will effect ground as well air units AT THE SAME TIME IT HITS THE GROUND!

I hope that you understanded me. I didn't knew I speak so un-undestandable.....

Use an Airburst Weapon or whatever trick Kenosis did in his old gif where his nuke could kill air/jumpjet units too.

You should just ask "Whether the warhead detonated on the ground will affect airbone unit?"

Then the answer is NO.
Only warhead detonated in the air can affect air unit.

In NPEXT, warhead  detonated on the ground can affect air unit by default.

Ares EMP doesn't check for height when units get hit. Any aircraft flying over the area where EMP hits, will get affected as if it was on the ground.

Don't rely on it, though, because this is not intended to work this way, and is very likely to get changed at one point.

Ares's current CellSpread model (which is only used for applying Ares effects, as in Iron Curtain, EMP, AttachEffect) skips that first step with the check of 1 lepton and does not use those 20x20 grids neither. But all the following stuff are valid.
