Getting this error after running skirmish and trying to launch the game. Ran it as administrator using windows 98 compat mode. Confirmed the blowfish.dll was there. Logs looked ok except for a few map load issues but attached them anyway. OS is Win7 64 bit.

Anything else I can try?

Have you managed to start the game before or have you just installed it for the first time?

Try deleting the version file and then starting the launcher. The launcher will now offer an update; click yes to let it update and see if this fixes the issue (this makes the launcher automatically download/replace any files that are missing or that are not identical to the versions of the files that are on the server).

DTA doesn't require Windows 98 compatibility mode.

Maybe you could try running regsvr32 for blowfish.dll, I can't remember if it actually works but it's worth a try. Tell if you need more help with that.

Never got it to run. Tried with and without compatibility. Tried registering the dll. No luck. Anything else to try?

Hmm, it seems strange. Did you run the 32-bit version of regsvr32 (in Windows\SysWOW64\regsvr32.exe)?

Maybe your directory path has some special characters that TS doesn't like?

Yep, tried 32bit regsvr. Also moved it to \games\dawnage because of naming. Same thing.  Got a permission issue when updating (ran as admin though). So, gave everyone full control on that dir. Same thing. Anything else to try?

Does the regsvr complete successfully or does it throw an error?

Hi, I had this exact same issue but it seems to have been fixed by NOT running the launcher as an administrator.
