Can't start DTA multiplayer game
Hello, I recently discovered DTA and found it amazing since I'm a big fan of Tiberium Dawn and Red Alert. I played a few games against the AI and was quite pleased from what I saw so I asked my little brother to also download it and try to play together in LAN.
Sadly, the LAN option doesn't show up anywhere for DTA so I just thought : "well no big deal, let's just try on CnCnet to hook up a game together".
We both can see the games, the players. We both can join whoever creates the game but the problem happens when we try to launch; it always fails. We even tried to change the map to see if it "could possibly" be one of the reasons of the problem but it isn't.
This is the log that spawns each time we try to launch the game :
************** Texte de l'exception **************
System.Exception: Unable to find a valid CnCNet Tunnel!
à .(Int32 , String& , Int32& , List`1& )
à . (Object , EventArgs )
à System.Windows.Forms.Control.OnClick(EventArgs e)
à System.Windows.Forms.Button.OnClick(EventArgs e)
à System.Windows.Forms.Button.OnMouseUp(MouseEventArgs mevent)
à System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmMouseUp(Message& m, MouseButtons button, Int32 clicks)
à System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m)
à System.Windows.Forms.ButtonBase.WndProc(Message& m)
à System.Windows.Forms.Button.WndProc(Message& m)
à System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.OnMessage(Message& m)
à System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m)
à System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)
I don't know if this will help but I thank you in advance for checking into the matter. QUICK_EDIT
The last few lines of the file "launcher.log" (in DTA's directory) after the error has occured would provide more useful information than the Windows error dialog. So, please either upload launcher.log here (I'm not sure if guests can upload files) or copy the last few lines from it here right after the error has occured.
looks like the issue we once had when the cncnet server had problems and once we hit "start", the launcher crashed because he couldn't connect to cncnet. Bittah and me did a few tests back then and the problem was solved when the cncnet guys fixed the server.
So in this case it helps to try again later. _________________ SHP Artist of Twisted Insurrection: Nod buildings
Back then one specific server was having a problem and returned a 503 error, like you can see in your screenshot:
Zixe's issue appears to be a bit different, so it could be that a local firewall is blocking the connection to the tunnel for the host. _________________ QUICK_EDIT
