Well, the word ultimately comes from Arabic maḵāzin, which means a storehouse. In Finnish there's also "makasiini" which means the same thing. I dunno why in English a magazine is also a kind of tabloid.

This has nothing to do with English, but I've always thought it funny how in Estonian (a finnic language), wedding day is "pulmapäev", when in Finnish "pulma" means "trouble" or "puzzle". So essentially it's "trouble day" #Tongue

even though english is my primary language, my mom speaks tons of Japanese, however, there are so many words in Japanese that are literally the same as english (pronunciation wise). However,

"Ya"  in Japanese means no.
