My PC and RA2YR

So, I have a laptop that I'm using for creating voxels + build up World Domination mod. My laptop began to degrade 2 years ago. The corner of laptop is damaged, the battery had to be taped onto the bottom of laptop because it will not lock on and the wireless is damaged, plus it is constantly overheat. I do not know how long my laptop will last before it dies out.

But I have a brand new PC that I have for a year now and I want to x-fer my mod to my PC from the laptop. RA2YR starts up and runs fine, until I get to the main menu screen where there is no animation, nothing show up, frozen. Goes the same for Tiberian Sun.

I attached DxDiag which contains information about my PC build with problem on the very bottom of the report.

And here is how it looks like when I run RA2YR on my PC.

Hopefully someone who have experiences can assist me and resolve this issue so that I can continue working on my mod before something bad happens to my laptop.

Seems problem with Windows 8.1, search for ddraw fixes and try running in window mode.

Always mention your operating system with this kinda cases seriously, else people have to do educated guess and chances of help coming fast is less likely.

If it's Windows 8, I find running it in a window fixes most issues with TS and RA2.

See DxDiag attachment on the first post which contains information about my PC operating system and it also contain information about why RA2YR didn't worked on the very bottom of the report.

Thanks, but now I have a problem. Run.Bat requires that the game exe to be change to ra2md, but I need the name of exe to stay gamemd.exe so that Ares can run it. Is it possible to have both same exe and run concurrently?

I'm not sure how to get Run.bat to run gamemd.exe.

Try running in windowed mode first, if it solves, then no need for ddraw fixes.

On the run.bat, that question could be put on that linked thread itself. I haven't used it as I use
Win7 where this problem is not there.

I got it working finally without the need of ddraw fixes.

I did a bit of researching on how to get it windowed...

All I did was simply adding -WIN to RunAres.bat and it starts up good.

Now I'm testing the game, quite strange and problem for me. Everytime I move the cursor in-game, the game slows down. But when I am not moving the cursor, the game runs fine.

Is there any way to fix that issue?

Actually, I got this working out now, at last. Glukv's drawdll works great and I combined the run.bat code with RunAres.bat so that it can be launched at same time. Now it works smoothly! So thrilled. Very Happy

That means I can work twice or triple the speed without having to relying all the time on x-ferring information from my slow-ass laptop. Very Happy
